Can anyone suggest a credit care for me? I would like to charge everything to it & pay it off every month..so APR DOES NOT MATTER!! I'm most interested in cash back or rebates.

I have the AAA card for gas at pay at the pump.

I'm using universal card that I think gives 1% back (you use the points that you earn to 'buy' stuff from their site & I always buy a gift card for kMart & American Express Platinum Cash Rebate Card that I think gives 2% back.

I'm looking for better deals.

Just to add...I'm not extremely interested in miles or free hotel nights. I've never flown & have yet to redeem a free night at a hotel although I think I have enough points for hilton & spg.

Try the Bank One Disney Card it's not bad. I think it give you 1 point for every $100 you spend. But the best part is if you charge a Disney vacation to the card it 0% interest for 6 months!

Hope this helps.

i use my AMEX Delta Skymiles or AT&T Universal.

The Amex gets me free airline tickets and the AT&T gives me theme park tickets and merchandise for Universal Studios or NBC items which includes music, etc..

My sister has a Toys R Us card she uses and gets special coupons and gift certificates all the time. :wave2:

We do the disney visa too, but it's the standard 1 dollar per 100. We use the heck out of it and someday it will really help with our next trip to WDW but there are better options out there.

As to the using it for WDW for 0% interest, be warned.... 1) you have to book a package (no big deal if you plan to already, but if not you will spend more than you saved in interest charges) and 2) Since you pay your card off every month the 0% offer may be out anyway because they don't designate what portion of your spending was on the trip. I find it hard to believe (maybe someone can confirm it) but I've heard that you have to have nothing on there but a trip to WDW you get 6 mos. no interest. In other words if you spend 2k on a trip then your usual (say 1000/mo) and at the end of the month pay 1000 they will apply it to the trip and so now you have 1000 at 0 int and 1000 at your normal APR. Is that correct?

Our sattelite, cell phone, dsl and home phone all take CC autopay at no charge. It doesn't seem like much, but sign up whatever you can for free.

I like my Chase-i Mastercard. It pays back at a rate of 1%. No gimicks. Just a straight 1%. The great thing is that it pays every time that your charges exceed $1000. For me, that can happen every month.

The rebate comes in the form of a Webcertificate, which is an electronic debit account. I can use it to make online purchases almost anywhere that takes Mastercard (PayPal is one exception). For $6, I purchased their plastic debit card that is accepted at B&M stores that accept Mastercard.

What I especially like is that the rewards are automatic. I don't have to ask for them. When my charges meet or exceed $1000 - whether it took me 1 month or 10 - I get an email with a redemption code.

And the rewards are "stackable" which means that they can all be added to one account and used together. The great thing is that rewards programs like MyPoints and CreationsRewards also offer Webcertificates as rewards. So, I can add my "rewards" money to my credit card rewards for even more buying power.

Right now, I've got over $100 in my account with February's rewards due in a week. That's after pretty much depleting it in July for our trip vacation. Plus I'm expecting another $50 from MyPoints and $10 from Creations Rewards. That should help defray the cost of April's trip!

I have a Citibank Platinum Card that gives 5% cash back bonus on gas, groceries and pharmacy charges (and 1% on everything else). For all charges except gas, groceries, and pharmacy, I am using the Disney card to increase our rewards. At some time where we aren't planning a Disney vacation in the next 12 month period (egad!), I will switch over to the Citibank for everything. Let's hope that that never happens!!

I second the Citi Platinum -- no airline points, hotel miles, gift certificates or store-specific, just plain $$. If you do a search on credit card, there was a pretty informative and similar thread not too long ago.

I also have the citi bank card. I really like getting 5% back, we have already received a check for $113.00 and we are working on the next one.

I'm another Citi card user. Note that you can only get $300/year in rewards and you must have at least $50 to ask for a check. A bonus: when I received my check just before Jan. 1, I got a note that said for the next 3 months I would get 6% for gas, groceries, drugs and 2% for everything else! With Christmas and vacation expenses I am going to hit the $300 mark soon (just ordered another $210 check tonight), and it is only February. After I hit a total of $300 for this calendar year I will switch to another card, probably MilesOne, which I think offered me the 5%/1% deal also. I got many plane tickets from that card in the past and NO BLACK OUT dates (just buy any ticket, pay with your card, and a credit for the ticket amount is credited back to your account).
I really get a lot of value with my credit card rewards!
P.S. I also have a Disney Visa which I used to use all the time, but it just isn't paying the dividends that others are paying right now!

discover card gives you 1% back. No gimmicks. When you have accumulated $20 you can redeem for a $20 check that you cash at your bank. Don't have to buy only at disney, don't have to buy from AAA. I don't understand why people don't use this card.

You don't have to bother with a check either. They can take the amount of your reward off your next bill.

My Discover card does not give me 1% until I reach a certain number of dollars spent (I think $3,000). They do offer some good specials but you must sign up for them.

I have a Citibank Drivers Edge which accumulates a flat 2% towards the purchase of a new or used car. Maximum accumulation is $1500.00. I feel that a reward of 2% is fairly generous!

I didn't have to sign up for anything special on discover. The 1% is supposed to be with all their cards, I thought. Also, when you get your bill, there are usually little flyers telling you ways to save 5% cash back. Last fall, there was a 2 month period where all groceries purchased with Discover got 5% cash back....then another time, it was restaurants, and the last one I knew of was educational materials and gyms and the like. The flyer directs you to sign up online. So, even if you don't get the flyer, you should ck Discover online monthly to see what deals you can sign up for to get 5% cash back!

We have a Fidelity Investments branded (issued by MBNA) 529 College Rewards Card.

It gives us 2% on all purchases into a 529 College Savings account for our daughters. It's not money today, but it is a great way to help build up the college fund.

We charge everything we possibly can to the card (including the tuition at our daughters' day card) and are getting approximately $500 to $700 per year into the 529 account just from bonuses.

I use an MBNA WorldPoints card - 1 point per dollar. Points can be used for airline, hotel, merchandise or cash. They have their own travel agents & do travel package specials. I like it so far.

I looked into the Disney card, but frankly 1 point per $100 is a really lame reward rate. No matter how much I love Disney, I can do much better on other cards......

Last year I put $109,586 and change on my Disney Bank One Visa. I know, I was really scared when I read the year end statement. Most of it was merchandise--furnishings, housewares, window treatments, etc. for the Florida house. Thanks God that's pretty much done and over! :scared1:

At any rate, the nice part was all the meals we got at WDW out of it! I also used some reward points to order some items for the house from the Disney catalogue.

I like it because there's no fee, and unlike air miles cards, the flights can be so limited and restricted that it can be really difficult to get what you want or need--there's no blackouts or restrictions with the Disney Reward Points :)

So that's what I use. Having those reward points is nice when I don't feel like cooking and tell DH..."Let's go to WDW for dinner...it's free" :D

Everything I do seems to revolve around a Disney vacation:

Disney Visa - enough about that here already
Marriott Visa (also Bank One) - have cashed in for Park Hopper Tickets
Delta Amex - free flights to Disney
