Best Cozumel Tours

I need feedback on the Cozumel shore excursions. I am interested in seeing some ruins BUT my two young sons could never handle the 7 hour tour. I have read about the Jeep tours and was wondering if they include any visits to ruins.

My husband and I did the jeep tour. If you like being tossed around in the jeep it's fun. My husband and I really enjoyed it, loved the beach part. The ruins I was disappoined in, because I didn't know what to expect. It was a very small concrete building.
That was it, you didn't go in it or anything. But the tour guides did a good job explaining about it, just NOTHING to see. We thought it a bit pricey for what you got after talking to the people who did the catamaran tour - it was 40/each whereas jeep was 75/each.

We talked to other people on our May cruise and they had done
the catamaran tour and just raved about it. It sounded really awesome, so if my husband and I go again, that's what we plan to do. Now on the jeep tour we didn't get hardly any shopping done in Cozumel, so if you want to shop you did to consider that.

We did the San Guervo (sp?) ruins and beach day excursion. They are smaller ruins, but still real. Then you get a stop at a very nice beach for a couple of hours.

My DM and DF were with us, so we knew we couldn't take the 7 hr Tulum ruins. This was a nice alternative that was only 4 or so hours.

We been to Cozumel twice. The first time we did the Jungle Jeep Tour with an independent company http://www.aventurasnaturalascozumel.com/indexframe.htm. Susan, our guide, was very knowledgeable regarding the Mayan culture. We had a great time, great lunch on the beach, etc.

The second time we went (June 2004) we did the 3-reef snorkel tour with Eagle Ray Divers www.eagleraydivers.com. Best snorkeling we have ever done!!

Both were fabulous and our three boys had a blast on each. HTH
