I have all my dinner ADRs for my upcoming trip in December, but I was wondering if anyone has suggestions for counter service meals--breakfast and lunch. I have seen numerous thread concerning which table service is best and recommended, but never one for counter service.

I'm not going to plan my trip around my meals, but was wondering if anyone had suggestions for these meals. Which restaurants and which meals, remember to include desserts, I'm on DDP!!!

We are staying at CSR, but any resort or park would be considered. I am wanting to visit the other resorts to see the Christmas decorations anyway, so this would give me a good excuse to go.

Waiting for your suggestions. Thanks in advance.

MK counter service Cosmic Rays
This year going to try Pinnachio Haus

MGM would be Backlot Tours

Animal Kingdom havent had anything great there yet but trying Flame Tree this year.

Epcot- We really like the Yakitori House here. It's a little out of the way, but if you eat there you won't be disappointed (IMO).

If you like mexican, the Cantina de San Angel is ok, but you have to eat outside, and when we go in July, it's a bit hot.

MGM- Pizza Planet is much better now than in the past, and while I used to trash it, now I can happily recommend it!

Rosie's All American is good also.

Magic Kingdom- Noodle Station. I know it gets a lot of bad press, but we really enjoyed it both times we were there.

Cosmic Ray's is really good and the portions are big enough to split.

Animal Kingdom- Tusker House is very good, as is the Flame Tree B-B-Q.

Honestly, for breakfast we always eat from the food court or stuff we've brought with us (cereal, bagels etc...). The only time we eat breakfast in the parks is if it's a character breakfast.

I second the vote for Cosmic Ray's and ABC.

How about a lunch from the Mickey bar cart? Yum!

I usually find the breakfast offerings at my resort to be adequate so I haven't ever eaten breakfast at the parks. :)

For lunch counter service my favorites are ~

AK - Tusker House (not sure when that is being converted to a buffet though, it might go downhill after that).

MK- I like Cosmic Rays for the selection. I don't really like eating burgers and fries after being in the hot sun all day and they have salads, cold sandwiches, chicken w/veggies, etc. They have the burgers and stuff too if you want it but they do offer more of a selection.

MGM - ABC Commissary is the only counter service I've done here but they have a really good cuban sandwich. :)

EPCOT -There is a temporary stand in Japan right now that I ate at the other night. It was delicious. I got Yakiniku (grilled beef w/rice), so good!

Thanks for the suggestions. I think we may try Cosmic Rays--I like the idea of actually getting a vegetable while I'm on vacation.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've also heard Tusker House is good. Thanks for a second vote.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. For those of you going soon, let me know how they turn out this year.

MK: Columbia Harbour House
Epcot: Sunshine Seasons
AK: Tusker House (waaaahhhh... so sad to see it go!)
Studios: n/a

Epcot
By far the best for lunch (HANDS DOWN), Sunshine Seasons! Our kids made their own subs and loved it! Plus more options than other restaurants.

Disney Hollywood Studios
(that sounds weird!)
Sci-Fi Dine In - Great atmosphere and the food was pretty good. HINT: Listen to the servers - they say the lines to everything thats happening on the theatre screen, HILARIOUS!

Animal Kingdom
Tusker House - Good food and are totally HUGE in portion size. Great view if you walk to the waterfront and eat overlooking Expedition Everest. Unfortunately, its in Rehab until mid-Oct.

+1

Magic Kingom
Cosmic Rays - Not that this was great, it just worked out that this was most convenient.

Beyond

We loved the variety, portions and tastes from the servings at Everything POP! For where POP Century stands in the order of Resorts at Disney, their food court was really good!

DTD - WPE, they have awesome salads, sandwiches and pizza...we love this place and try to eat here more than once on every trip. The portions are super huge, the fresh brewed mango ice tea is my favorite.

MK - Cosmic Rays, I am a sucker for a chicken caesar salad and this one is huge.

AK - Flame Tree BBQ

MGM - NOTHING!

EPCOT - Germany has great brauts with kraut on these super soft yummy bread rolls. Morrocco has a huge selection, big enough to share...my favorite is the rotisserie chicken with saffron rice and olive salad.

MK- We like cosmic ray's chicken ceasar salad and burgers at Peco's Bill-lots of choices to plus up your burger. Sauteed mushrooms, tomatoes, onion, pickles etc. at a condiment bar. Turkey legs are a must for my son.

Epcot- Frozen Margaritta's at Mexico's Catina, cinnamon glazed almonds and pecans (Snack) available from carts at entrance to WS and up next to the American Adventure.

MGM- We eat at ESPN at the Boardwalk before or after MGM. We have drinks at Sci Fi. Kiddos like the Turkey Legs near Rosie's.

AK- Flame Tree and Tusker House

Visit the AKL and eat at the Mara (foodcourt)-try the zebra domes and brownies (snack) that are served at Boma- you can purchase them at the Mara's fridge section. After you grab a bite to eat, go and observe the wildlife at observation sites.

We ate at the food court in EPCOT (probably what everyone is calling Sunshine Seasons). There is something for everyone and their desserts have their own spot (like a Sbarros in a food court). I had a butterfinger brownie (and it had marshmallows on top), my DH had chocolate cake I think.

If I did DDP again, I might be inclined to order a muffin for my dinner dessert at counter service when I could (like here at EPCOT) and eat it for breakfast. I don't always feel like I need dinner dessert unless my mom is cooking. :) Then I would be able to get a breakfast drink with my snack credit in the morning.

We had great counter service at the Poly and GF this last time as well.

Unfortunately Tusker House is about to be history as CS if it isn't already. I am sooo disappointed about that! It was the only place other than Sunshine Seasons that you can get a piece of fish at counter service- and at a much better price than SS. (PLEASE correct me if I am wrong!)

MK - I always have to go to Casey's for a hotdog and fries (usually for dinner though while I'm camped out for a spot for Spectromagic or Wishes). I also tried Columbia Harbour House for the first time this year. Great little place (awesome clam chowder...yum!!) for a quiet, cool little break during the day.

Epcot - I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Yakitori House in Japan. It's tucked away and has a great little outdoor garden to relax in. I make it a point to eat there at least twice each trip!

AK - Flame Tree BBQ. My favorite there used to be the Chakrandi Chicken Shop in Asia. I'm really looking forward to Yak & Yeti!

MGM - This is my least favorite park in terms of food. There really isn't anything that I would say is "not to be missed" for counter service. The ABC commisary has always been good.

DTD - Cap'n Jack's for chowder....and Earl of Sandwich (the jerk chicken wrap rocks!)

AK... flame tree!!!! I LOOOOOOOOVE that place!!! The best ribs on EARTH!!!
MK Pecos Bills or Cosmic Rays
MGM (as stated earlier...) NOWHERE!!! ABC Comm is OK, nothing to write home about.
Epcot... huge list! Morocco has GREAT CS. China is good too. Mexico CAN be, if you dont get a RUDE CM. Thats happened to us twice there. I didnt much care for the fish and chips in England. Too greasy.
I plan to try Japan, Norway, France, and Germany this year. Ive eaten at all of them for TS, but not for CS.

We love PM at CSR!
MK- Cosmic Ray's
AK- Flame Tree BBQ
Epcot- Sunshine Seasons or Tangierine Cafe
DS- Toy Story Pizza Planet was ok

My husband and daughter claim that the fish at Columbia Harbor House is the best they've ever had. And we can not go to WDW without eating at Yakitori in Epcot. It's beside the Japan pavilion. My daughter LOVES The udon noodles, my son loves the teriyaki chicken. We order children's portions and the amount is perfect. Last time we were at Epcot the kids ate both lunch and dinner there the same day.

Our favorites are:

MK Columbia Harbour House followed closely by Peco Bill's
MGM Nothing great, we usually eat at the Backlot Express
AK Always been Tusker House - the best CS on property - I am very sorry it will be gone. We are going to try Flame Tree Barbeque
EC Many great International CS to try. We have eaten at and enjoy:
Yakatori House in Japan, Tangerine Cafe in Morroco, Cantina de San Angel in Mexico, Sommerfest in Germany, and Fish and Chips in the UK.
