We will be trying to save some $ this upcoming trip and are not getting the dining plan. We will likely schedule one table service/character meal (to be determined), but the rest will likely be counter service. What is your favorite counter service in each park, and why? What is a 'must eat'? TIA

MK- Pecos Bill good food and the fixings bar is great. Columbia Harbour House good food and selections. Eat up stairs.
AK - Satu'Li Canteen maybe the best QS at WDW. Flametree BBQ the name says it all. Big portions . The 2 of us often split one.
HS -poor choices up to now. Backlot Express has been ok. Have not tried Woodys Lunch Box, but hopeful there.
EPCOT - lots of good choices. Katsura Grill Japan, Sunshine Seasons in the Land, Yorkshire County Fish Shop UK

Can we pick more than one?

MK - Columbia Harbour House (Magic Kingdom, Liberty Square) - I've enjoyed everything I've tried there. Great spot to eat upstairs for the atmosphere, air conditioning, and view of Liberty Square. I also liked the Sweet and Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich at Sleepy Hollow, although it seems like it has shrunk in size recently. (Still a great place to enjoy the waffle sandwich with fruit and hazelnut spread though!)
AK - My favorite food park at the moment. Satu'li has delicious choices including healthier options. I like the steak bowl with white and sweet potatoes. Harambe Market has a great pork rib dish that I've heard professional chefs praise. Flame Tree has great ribs too, and an awesome seating area down by the waterfront.
Epcot - I don't have one must-eat here, but love trying different things every time. Food & Wine Festival is the best time to sample a wide variety. I like Tangierine Cafe for something healthier and Mediterranean.
HS - I'm afraid I have no favorites in this park. Hopefully someone else will help me discover something new.

Hmmm

Magic Kingdom Pecos Bill in 5 trips we have never had an issue
Hollywood Studios Backlot Express good food great theming and something counter service at HS lacks air conditioning.
Animal Kingdom Satu'li Canteen because it is by far the best counter service in all of WDW.
Epcot There are many but my guilty pleasure is Tangierine Café. I am Jewish and I know I will have no issues with their menu.

MK: Be Our Guest for lunch. The braised pork is great and I had a good French dip there last trip.
Epcot: Tangierine Cafe (shawarma platters), La Cantina (tacos)
AK: Harambe Market (the ribs are fantastic), Satuli Canteen
DHS: Eh, nothing really stands out here. Get a funnel cake at Oasis Canteen.

MK: Pecos Bill
EP: Electric Umbrella
AK: Flame Tree BBQ
HS: ?? We always have lunch at Sci-Fi. Planning to try Woody's Lunch Box on our next visit

I don't have a "must eat" at any of these.

MK: Pecos Bill (beef nachos are my personal favorite - I even just get the kids meal version and ask to substitute rice as my side to get plenty of food), Be Our Guest (slightly on the pricier side but still delicious), Columbia Harbor House
Epcot: Yorkshire County Fish Shop in the UK (obviously fish and chips are good, but you can also just get an order of chips w/out fish that is pretty reasonably priced - it's not on the menu but just ask)
HS: ABC Commissary (different choices, I like the chicken sandwich, but beware of going right at traditional lunchtime because it's a madhouse), looking forward to trying Woody's Lunchbox in August
DAK: Flame Tree BBQ (French Fries with Pulled Pork and Cheese is my must do - it's technically a side but it's been enough for a meal for me before)

MK - Another fan of Pecos Bills, the meals are large enough to share, especially with the fixins bar.
AK - We rarely eat QS here because we love to go to Nomad Lounge and get small bites and a refreshing adult beverage but when I'm solo sometimes I'll go to Yak and Yeti QS and grab a fried rice. I think it is a snack on the dining plan (we don't do the dining plan) but it's pretty big and more than a enough for a meal for me. I usually just get a cup of water with it because other than refreshing adult beverages and coffee, it's all I drink.
HS - Again, we rarely do QS here because we like to grab something at HBD Lounge, for me it's a Cobb Salad and a glass of wine. If we do QS, it's Backlot Express, I like the Caprese Sandwich. Toy Story Land had not opened up yet the last time we were there so we will probably try that in Sept.
Epcot - Anywhere in WS, we like them all. The meals at Tangeriene Cafe are easily shared. We also like to go to Spice Road Tables and eat outside and get a couple of small plates to share.

MK - Pecos Bill (a must do for every trip - financial savings and largest CS portions in the entire park) or Casey's (always a good quick stop if you like hot dogs/fries)
Epcot - La Cantina or Lotus Blossom (both have some good options but honestly anywhere in the world showcase pavilion is a winner though - beware of lack of seating though in most of Epcot CS options)
HS - like others have said... Eh... We liked the Commissary but the menu has been changing frequently and I personally do not think for the better - now we have stated to grab something quick from the little market stands over by ToT
DAK - you can get a lot of the same food available at the Yak and Yeti TS but in CS format at the outside window!

MK - Columbia Harbor (love the salmon, fish and chips and lobster roll)
Epcot - Sunshine Seasons (no particular favorite here but there are always a ton of options and all of them good)
AK - Satu'li Canteen (the bowls are really good and so are the cheeseburger pods) My opinion this is the best QS in all of WDW!
HS - This is a tough park for choices - I hear Woody's lunch box has good options but I haven't tried. We use Commissary on hot days as they have air-conditioning and that is hard to find for QS in this park. I like Backlot for the Darkside Chicken and Waffles if the day allows for outdoor seating. We like to sit on the side patio and watch the Jedi training academy while we eat.

I am a big fan of Satu'li Canteen because I get stuck down in Pandora now, but I'm glad to see some love for Yak and Yeti CS. I didn't eat lunch anywhere else for probably 10 years of trips!

Satu'Li Canteen has the most DELICIOUS veggie curry bao buns. Don't get the hamburger ones, they're super gross.

Just saw the updated menu for Columbia Harbor House and don't see the tuna fish sandwich. Anyone know if it's a mistake or did they take it off?

Awwwww, really?? What a bummer. Those were SO good. :( Yak & Yeti it is, then.

MK - Casey's Corner
DHS: ABC (haven't tried Woody's Lunch Box yet)
EPCOT: La Cantina
DAK: Flame Tree

AK: Satu'li canteen is hands down my favorite QS in any park (and is at the top of my favorite restaurant on property, period). It has great customizable variety and healthy options (including vegetarian/vegan). And, I love both deserts.

MK: Harbor House has good variety and healthy options, and "lighter" fare. As others have said; go upstairs and look around for some neat places to sit.

EPCOT: if you are toward the front of the park; Sunshine Seasons. Again, great variety and unusual fare, lots of seating. If in WS, then Tangierine Cafe in Morocco, their food is very filling and good, but doesn't weigh you down. If you want a more starchy variety and the best deserts, go to Les Halles in France.

HS: This is the hardest park. We go to Backlot out of sheer tradition, but I've heard good reviews about Woody's for certain food.

Those were all for lunch/supper. If you want a quick bit for breakfast, we love Sleepy Hollow in MK (esp. for a fruit and nutella waffle).

Here are my two cents:

Magic Kingdom: Peco's Bill hands down. It's delicious and make sure you sit inside, there's a room on the right with lots of seating that's gorgeously themed.
Epcot: Tangierine Cafe is delicious and leave room for their honey and nut pastries and their Moroccan mint tea.
Hollywood Studios: I've no idea. We go to Hollywood Brown Derby (table service) or to a resort.
Animal Kingdom: Satu'li Canteen is indeed excellent. We also love Flame Tree BBQ.
