Hi just wanted to know what your favorite counter service meal in the WC on the dining plan is?? I love chinese food but am not to thrilled about eating there on DP because the desserts don't sound that great so I guess I am looking for best total meal! (Anyone try France? Now their desserts sound FAB :teeth:but not so much other offerings)

CS is Yakatori - ate there last week for our first meal of our trip and our last meal. The desserts in France are yummy, but so are the desserts in Norway.

We really liked the Tangerine Cafe in Morroco. The shawarma platters are real good and a good variety of desserts from the pastry shop there...we had chocolate mousse cake that was yummy!!! :goodvibes

I'm going to vote for Tangerine cafe and the shawarma platters also but don't rule out China because of the desserts! Even my kids loved the ginger ice cream there. It's just fast food Chinese though and we get much better here at home although the orange chicken was very good. We had combination platters in Mexico and Japan, would definitely choose Japan over Mexico and China and all of them would be ahead of the brat and kraut in Germany. We get much better brats and I can cook kraut that doesn't have all the flavor cooked out here at home. That takes us back to Tangerine Cafe, it was definitley the favorite for all of us and if you're looking at sharing, we shared what we got in each country between the 3 of us so we could try things from more countries, it will easily fill up 2 adults. Try to plan it so you're there when Mo Rockin is playing and you can sit outside and hear great music while you eat!

Another vote for Tangierine Cafe -- best all around CS meal at WDW, IMHO. DS, 7, loves it as much as DH and I do. Fresh, delicious food that's probably just different enought from what you get at home to be special, but not SO different that you wouldn't want to try it.

Another vote for Tangerine Cafe! I also like Yakatori House.

I love Tangerine Cafe as well. I just wanted to mention, since you brought up desserts and the DP, that the word on the street is that you can only get the baklava as your dessert there.

Wow I am really surprised that the overwhelming response was Tangerine Cafe. We ate at the TS restaurant in Morocco 2 years ago and were not that impressed with the food. The atmosphere was awesome with the dancers etc, but the food was nothing we wanted to eat again and we love to try new and different foods. But that aside I am willing to give it another try! Thanks for your responses, I know its early but I am trying to have the CS restaurant on our Epcot day picked out because my DH isn't a big fan of the WS so I at least want to get my restaurant choice before he bails on me! Thanks again--

Tangerine Cafe gave us the best bang for our buck. Yes, if you are on the DP you only get Baklava for dessert. But I love Baklava so that wasn't a problem.

What DH and I like to do is get something from a couple different places in WS and share. For example, we split a pastry in France. Then when we got to Morroco, we shared the Saffron Roasted Chicken (excellent!!). We picked up some chocolates in Italy. Then by the time we got to Mexico, we were hungry again so we picked up and split the Plato Combinacion.

We like getting a little bit of everything for each country as we tour - we're hardly able to fit in our pants by the time we're done though!

Some of our favorites are fish and chips in UK, chocolate mousse in France, and baklavla in Morocco.

The chinese food is pretty awful. It reminded me of the kind you get in a shopping mall food court. Yuck!

CS in the World Showcase is one of the reasons that I'd never get bang for my buck out of the dining plan -- I like to "nibble" too much.

But, if I had to pick an overall favorite, I'd actually go with Norway. I love the desserts and the sandwich offerings are very authentic. I have kind of a thing for Scandanavia in general, though.

I'd avoid the Chinese -- it's no better than the Panda Express.

Really didn't think about Norway but that might be a good choice, I was all so set for trying Morroco again but my DH is not huge on that kind of food so maybe Norway is a good choice, France sounds good to but looking at the menu there doesn't seem to be alot of meal choices. Anyone eaten CS in France?? (entree, dessert, etc--) Thanks again for all of the info---
