Best counter lunch in AK?

Hi all. Would love opinions on the best counter service for lunch in AK. Is Flame Tree still open/ open in March? How is Restaurantosaurus? We'll be 6 of us, including kids @ 10, 5 and 3 yrs. old. Thanks for any suggestions.

We love Flame Tree! We were just there and it was open. We ate there twice in fact! We got the meal vouchers both times which are a great deal. Besides your meal there they include an ice cream or popcorn and a soda or water bottle to be redeemed anytime that day in the park.

I really like the seating at Flame Tree, very peaceful under all the trees and by the water.

Our favorite is also Flame Tree BBQ.
We have done the Character breakfast at Restaurantosourus which is excellent. We have not used the counter service at Restaurantosourus, I don't see the point of eating McDonalds on vacation.

I don't know what the offerings are for kids at Flame Tree, but the Pulled Pork sandwich is very good, and Huge. The meal vouchers worked out well for us.

Reguarding whether or not Flame Tree is open or not. There have been some posts recently that it has been open. We usually go in Early March or mid May and it has always been open, however it does close a little earlier than we expected.
One afternoon we we're planning on grabbing a sandwich about 5-5:30 and it was closed. It had been open earlier in the day, but we were still full from Breakfast at Restaurantosourus.

Another vote for Flame Tree BBQ. We are there our first time last April & will be back again this April. The eating atmosphere was so relaxing and peaceful.

We find that the Restaurantosourus is noisy & too rushed. We also prefer not to eat McDonald's. My 3 DD's (12, 9 & 9 at the time) all ate the pulled pork sandwich & enjoyed it.

Okay then, Flame Tree or Tuskers it is. I hadn't realized Restaurantosaurus is McDonalds and I definitely don't want that. They don't eat that here, they definitely don't need to eat it on vacation! Thanks so much!

We really like Flametree BBQ, too, and since you will be there in March, sitting outside shouldn't be prohibitive by the heat.

Our other favorite is Tusker House. Their food is YUMMY! The kids menu is really good, and you can eat inside, out of the weather, or take the food outside and people watch while you eat. Many times they have the African entertainers out there, which are great for not only the kids but the adults, too!

As for Restaurantosaurus, it is like a glorified McDonald's, which is fine, if that is what you are looking for. Personally, I give the edge to Tusker House for variety, seating and entertainment value!

We love Tusker House for a good and quick sandwich. My daughter loves their turkey wrap.

Hands down, this is my favorite place to dine at AK. The food is hot and delicious!!! There is indoor and outdoor seating. I like sitting outside just as you exit the back way. If you listen, it sounds like people are actually in the rooms above!

Especially with the meal vouchers, what a great deal for lunch.I love the roasted chicken, garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. Haven't tried the salmon-grilled, i think, or the chicken salad bowl, but both look really good.Kids usually eat mac & cheese kids' meal with voucher. Interesting decor, and the place is pretty big.
Haven't tried the Flame Tree, but might now that I've read these posts! Thanks!

I really did not like the Tusker house when we erre there in Nov. I thought the roast chicken was overcooked and tasteless. My kids had the turkey wraps and thought they were just barely OK. So I guess to each his own.
