Best cost cutting advice please

here are some cost saving tips: As others have posted, its cheaper to fly from the USA. I would suggest you fly out of Bellingham on Allegiant Air. (at the moment they only are posting out airfares up to august) they also have vacation packages so you can get a package including airfare, car and hotel for a great price. Costco.ca (Costco online) sells the Southern California citypass at a reduced rate, and in Canadian funds. the city pass is 3day parkhoppers,1day universal and 1day seaworld. (you can add on more days at Disney when you get there) another option for tickets is flightcentre. again, discounted tix in Canadian funds. As others have posted, I suggest stopping at a walmart or other grocery store and purchase the following: - breakfast items ( bread, jam/PB, muffins, fruit platter, juice) and eat in your room to save $$. - water bottles (take into the park instead of buying in park) - healthy snacks like apple slices, dried fruit, cut-veggies, cheese, crackers, goldfish, granola bars, etc. we bring a small backpack and an icepack and bring our snacks into the park.
I was looking at allegiant air tonight, we have a week booked wed-wed and they don't fly those days. We are traveling with friends so we will need to see if it would work for them to switch days, maybe tues-tues or thurs-thurs. we will need to decide soon before hotel rates go up. I am trying to convince DH to drive but he loathes driving anywhere longer than 4 hours. We are only doing disneyland so the SoCal pass is of no use to us :( we have tossed around the idea of doing universal but our kids will all be 8 and under so we think it would be best to hold off for another trip when they are older and will enjoy it more.

We fly jet blue, so get one free necked bag for each of us.so we all take prepacked food. I will buy bulk and spread the food into everyones bags. We stay offsite in a hotel with a kitchen suite. When we get in. The boys swim while I got to the supermarket and get, milk bread, a roasted chicken., salad mix, cheese, etc.

I will go to Michael's, Target, and the Dollars store for little gifts. The always have cool Disney stuff. I beg packs of glow sticks. That way I don't get asked to buy the ones at Disney.

Weekly when shopping I budget a Disney gift card into my bill, that way I don't have to use my debit/ credit card while there. Well not a lot anyway!

I always buy a plain t shirt before we go and print on it for my son. And then he will buy one while there.

Going outside of Disneyland to buy your sovereigns, on the corner of Katella and Harbor Blvd there is a strip mall and there is a store that sells tons of Disney stuff and the prices are so good. Got two Tees the last time I wad there for less than $30.
hope you enjoy your trip
