Sorry if this grosses anyone out, but I gotta ask!

Asparagus gives some people's urine a funky smell. It doesn't happen to everyone, from what I heard. It does happen to me......and although I love asparagus, the stink kind of makes me steer away from it. (thankfully, the stink doesn't last too long!)

Here's another tip that I picked up when I had asparagus at a fancy restaurant once . . .

Run a vegetable peeler down the lower halves of the stalks. That removes the tough, fibrous parts and allows the stems to soak in any seasonings.

I am assuming this is a side. My fave way to do asparagus is drizzle with Olive oil and salt and roast in oven at 400 for maybe 10 mins. YUMMY, roasting brings out a nutty flavor you dont get with steaming.

I like mine roasted! I cooked some fresh pencil thin asparagus on a grill wok last week on high until it turned bright green, tossed with some olive oil. I sprinkled Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper on it with a little squeeze of lemon juice...yummy! No one else in my family likes it, so I get it all!

I know you can roast it in the oven, but I am not sure about temps and times. But it really does impart a nice flavor on the grill.-Oops, I see Ilovejack02 has provided instruction for oven roasting.
