Best Cocktails

is the menu the same at the tiki terrace and can you get the souvenir glasses, but are kids welcome there later at night and is it less crowded?

Almost the same.
Yes you can get the glasses.
Yes, kids are welcome on the patio at all times.
Sometimes it gets crowded.

Thanks for this. I will certainly want cocktails, and souvenir glasses, and know the actual bar might be too busy (even though we're at the Poly, so will have a couple of tries.)

I was not impressed with AbracadaBar when we were there in August. I really like the grey goose slushie in the France area of the world showcase. I had a couple of those one day. Also the dole whip with the dark rum was one of my favorites. I also did a scotch flight at Rose and Crown which was amazing.

margarita joe's on the boardwalk sells a drink that is a pineapple smoothie with rum.... but pretty much tastes like dole whip. with rum. =)

I liked the sake martini at the California Grill, avocado margarita from La Cava in Mexico and the Italian margarita in Tutto Gusto.

I'll ask you because you mentioned it - is the menu the same at the tiki terrace and can you get the souvenir glasses, but are kids welcome there later at night and is it less crowded?

Yes you can get any drink on the tiki terrace with the souvenir glasses and the food menu items are the same as can be found in the Grog Grotto as well. Also, yes, kids are welcome to be on terrace later at night as well (it is a great spot to watch Wishes from!) and it is typically much easier to get a table outside then to find a spot in the Grotto. When I was there in May I was able to get my own table on the terrace at around 830pm and had a great time enjoying a couple cocktails and appetizers along with the live ukelele music performed by Kaleo prior to viewing the fireworks. I would highly recommend the visiting tiki terrace, especially when the weather is comfortable outside.

thanks for the info. Do they pipe the music in? I was planning to watch wishes from my lake view room if it is high enough (DVC unit so the bungalows are in front) but it might be worth coming down to the terrace for a grownup drink!

I want to say yes that they do pipe it in at the terrace but I am not 100% positive as I guess its possible that it could have been piped in from the speakers set up on the beach right in front of the Volcano Pool.

I will say though that I for sure heard the music/narration loud and clear for Wishes (and the night prior to I had viewed the show directly on the beach) and I was located toward the back of terrace area close to the bar, so I can definitely recommend it for a true viewing experience. Also, another plus to visiting the terrace instead of the Grotto is that you can get the Spiky Pineapple drink only at the terrace (which is a Dole whip pre-blended with Myer's Rum which you can also add a 151 floater to which really kicks it up a notch).

My favorite WDW cocktail is the Pina Colava. They have it at lots of places around the World and they are so yummy

my sister and I are coming to Disney Oct 23-29 and would like to sample some of the adult offerings at the different hotel lounges and inside the park. What and where are some of your favorites (anything in a souvenir cup gets extra notice) Especially interested in frozen lemonade with bourbon and dole whip with rum!

Trader Sam's at the Poly! Souvenir cups!

Really, you'll bet there during food and wine festival, so there will be several good options at Epcot, too. I had a dole whip and rum thing that was really yummy. And we got a lot of souvenir beer glasses, too.

We really liked Trader Sam's. We actually sat outside, so we didn't get the full experience, but it was one of our more memorable nights. I had just won the Fantasy Football championship, so I said I'd buy. There were only stools left and my mom's back was bothering her, so we went outside. Plus, it was unseasonably warm last Christmas. The atmosphere, even outside, makes it worth it.

I'm more of a beer drinker, but I'll try and touch on a few:
- Narcoossee's and Artist Point both make great martinis. I love a nice dirty vodka martini with blue cheese olives on Christmas. AP and Narcoossee's both make them perfectly.
- I love the Tipsy Duck in Love at the China Pavilion in EPCOT. We're staying at Beach Club this year and I'll be sneaking away for a few of those.
- The Lapu Lapu at the Polynesian's Tambu Lounge (I think) is delicious and comes in a frozen pineapple!
- I've always wondered if Tune-In Lounge would add Baileys or something to the PB&J Shake
- We did the Electric Lemonade once. It looks cool because it has light-up ice cubes. It's okay - a little sweet.

Tune Inn Lounge is very good at bloody marys and Captain's mai tais. But they'll make whatever you want so long as they have the ingredients. You could always order a shot of Baileys or vodka for your shake.

For the drinks, souvenir glasses and atmosphere, Trader Sam's is a must-do. My brother and I went there in August and had a BLAST. Also, between the two of us, we tried most of the drinks on the menu! LoL (Thank goodness we were staying at the Poly!) The Pearl was delicious and the Uh-Oh! is fun to share thanks to the accompanying antics. A lot of the fun at TS, at least for me, was how much fun the CM's have serving the themed drinks...and how into it all the guests get. So. Much. Fun.

I also love the Tambu lounge - the Lapu Lapu is delicious and the Backscratcher is also yummy and pretty darn strong. (Also, their pulled pork nachos are seriously amazing!) Territory Lounge at WL makes some great, classic drinks; their dirty martini is simply delicious. In the parks, the Grey Goose slushee in France is refreshing, frozen been in Japan is unusual and tastes great and the grapefruit beer in Germany is tangy, sweet and bitter all at the same time. Plus, with F&W, you'll have so many other fabulous options to try - have fun!!!
