I've got 3 and 6 year old girls...do you recommend breakfast, lunch or dinner for character dining at the castle?

We did breakfast there a few years ago and loved  it! At the time, I had 2 boys, ages 6 & 7.

I have only been to the breakfast and it was wonderful. We went in 2004 and have ressies for June at 8:20 a.m. Breakfast is cool because you get in before everyone else and the pictures of the castle with no one around are worth the price. Plus the food is good. They have this what I thought was a stuffed french toast which is excellent. Someone on the disboards told me it was actually a french cheese danish. What ever it is, it worth going just to eat that. That is what I am most looking forward to. The characters come around and you get amazing pictures. We got a pastry basket, fresh fruit asst., toast sticks for the kids, eggs and sausage.
I hope this helps!

The breakfast is what we did on our 2nd trip to WDW and my DD 9 at the time loved it! I'm not sure but isn't breakfast the only Character dining in the castle or am I totally wrong? :confused3

We've only done it once and won't do it again, not because we don't want to but it's not a big calling for us since DD now just turned 13 and doesn't really feel for it anymore. Breakfast was really good and the characters came to every table more then once if I remember this right! We did have the last time for breakfast and the waiter said we didn't have to rush anything and to just take our time as we're were the last sitting, this was in 2004 so things might have changed. :)

We did an early breakfast years ago and it was fine:thumbsup2 I wanted to schedule a lunch this trip with DS now 20 and DD 18 for a surprise, but the lunch menu looked horrible for the price :sad2: Go on allearsnet.com and scroll for the exact menus of each meal. That should give you a good idea of when to schedule.

We've done both breakfast and lunch, and we prefer lunch. DH preferred the food at lunch - he wasn't too impressed with the breakfast. I, however, loved the stuffed French toast.

But we're really not morning people. We're doing well to get to the parks by opening - much less earlier for an early-morning ADR. So, we really do prefer lunch.

W/ your girls, I would do either breakfast or lunch. Cinderella is in the lobby for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but the other princesses only circulate among the tables for breakfast and lunch. At dinner, the Fairy Godmother, Suzy, and Perla are there, but I don't think they go from table to table. Children also get wands (girls) and swords (boys) and wishing stars at breakfast and lunch - I don't know if they get these things at dinner or not.

Definitely lunch! I love eating there. I love the pasta, and the BLT salad on the sample plate is sooooooo good.

With young children I would suggest breakfast.

By lunch time many kids are wiped out. The heat, the stress, the crowds, the lines, the blah blah blah have taken there toll.

CP is a special place. Go when the whole family is fresh and can enjoy the moment.

Just judging by the menu, and the fact that many young kids are picky eaters, I would think that Breakfast would be the best choice.

We've done all three...and the winner (for us) is breakfast. Lunch was OK. Dinner was not very good at all.

With children I would be going for breakfast or lunch as dinner is not a princess meal. We did the lunch and it was one of the highlights of our trip. We had done BBB in the morning so the kids were all dressed up. We really enjoyed the food also. We are now planning our next trip although its not until 2010 (can I wait that long) We have decided not to repeat any restaurants (because there are so many to try) except for this one. With our two princesses, this has to be a must for us.
We did also do the Princess Storybook breakfast aswell and really enjoyed this also, but CRT was just magical.

Dinner is not really a character meal.
Cinderella is in the lobby and you have a pic taken with her. Other than that The Fairy Godmother comes out and sings but doesn't go table to table. Suzy and Perla run around and that is it. So if you are going to see the characters I wouls suggest lunch or breakfast

I know in our family, CINDERELLA BREAKFAST IS A MUST! we all ove it there and we especially love the princess's coming to every table and taking pictures and signing autographs. We deffinitley say breakfast, but we have not gone to lunch or dinner there yet, so maybe if i went during those times, id enjoy that even more!

I 100% agree with PrincessBelle39. we brought our DD's 3 and 4 to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Butique in the morning and then headed to MK for some princess time. We then had lunch at the castle with the princesses and it was just a wonderful experience. This way you know your kids aren't going to be tired and cranky or impatient. The princesses all came around and gave you some picture time and the food actually wasn't too bad. All princesses get a wand and little princes get a sword and all kids get wishing stars. It was a very special trip for My DD's.
