Anyone have an opinion on which car company gives the best deal on car rentals at the MCO airport?

How far ahead do you typically book a car? I'm looking to rent one for 11/13-11/20 and would like to have all the details taken care of. But I've never rented a car this far out.

I have rented from Alamo many times. They let you combine offers and it is usually a great deal. Many of the promotions are current, so you may not find anything for November - yet.

Try the rental page on mousesavers.com, they post numerous codes for the rental car agencies.

I book a car, then as the time gets closer, I go back in and plug in the codes - it gives an option of keeping the original reservation or the modified one. My DH gets a kick out of how I can lower a rate by $50 or more!

I could not figure out how to "combine" offers, when I went to modify, it only has a field for one promotional code.

I actually put in a request at Dollar. A Ford Fusion (4 -door, holds 5 people, 3 pieces of luggage) is $140 for a week! Is it too good to be true? Is their counter lousy and a mile long? TIA!

Wow, that's really good! Cheapest I could get for October so far is like 240.00. :( We used Dollar in May and had a good experience- we waited about ten minutes, but it was quick and easy- just make sure you refuse the insurance or the price is double what they quoted. They were kind of slick about trying to sneak it in, but our car insurance covers it.

Oh, good to know. I read someone's trip report here on the Disboards and they used Dollar, no complaints.

As an aside, I read where someone was in a party of 4, one member went to get the rental while the rest of the party went on the Magical Express. The luggage was all taken care of by the Express and the renter was free to stroll down, rent, then proceed to the resort luggage-less! It sounded like a great idea!

I really look forward to renting a car this time as I think the 3 hour check-in required by M.E. for the return trip is a bit much. And, of course, there's the ease of getting around.

I had a great experience with renting from Dollar out of MCO and I am renting from them on my next trip. Just a tip I recently picked up is that you want to turn on your GPS before going into the parking garage at MCO to pick up your rental, the signal is really bad and it is hard to wait until after you drive out of the garage because you have to get on the highway pretty quickly.

I don't know if they have a kiosk but online, they offered some FastPass to the rental. They asked for detailed info, including my license number. Then they sent me an email with a barcode up top which I am to present to the counter agent.

So, I'm thinking they don't have a kiosk.

And, I just checked my email confirmation of the rental and with all fees, the actual rate is $204 for one week and one day.

I just searched rates for the end of October into November and it listed the $140/week for the Ford Fusion, but if you click on "city specials" it brought it down to $120/week.

We always use Dollar and never had a problem. If you sign up for their loyalty program, you can skip the counter and head straight to the garage to a separate check-in, and you car is right there, very quick and easy!

thanks for suggesting dollar rental car. looked online and found the lowest price thru them. i am seriously considering getting a rental car this trip because our familywould like to see the wwohp this year. thanks for all of your input on this. now im lookimg for a good online coupon code.

My parents are going to Disney at the end of the month and I was helping them search for the best rate. After doing some research on Mousesavers, we have found them a rental car at the Dollar located at the Regal Sun Resort near Downtown Disney. Basically, they will take the Magical Express to their resort, hop on a bus over to DTD and then walk to the Regal Sun Resort to pick up the car. A little more work, but it is saving them about $170by not renting at the airport. You should look into it if you have a little spare time and are really looking to save money. We also used a code found on Mousesavers. Hope this helps!

Maybe it's because I'm too close to the date, but I was looking to see if Dollar had a better deal for our trip next week, but I could not find a better deal than I got with Costco. Currently I have a full size vehicle reserved for $245 (including taxes and fees)

i used to get the email newsletter from kissimmee tourist something or another, and they in the past have always offered the "kiss" as a promo code for Dollar.

Try that. I've always had good luck with that one.... I don't think it expires

In Orlando I have always gotten the best rate on economy and compact (that is all I need when I travel) by renting from Budget and using the discount code found here.

I've gotten really good deals with National- I joined their free Emerald Club and they email specials all the time. You can walk into the garage at MCO, pick out your car, and drive off- the check out is on the way out. You can even get the toll pass if you want as well. I've got one booked for our anniversary trip at the end of October for under $180, and haven't used a coupon...
