Best Character Meet And Greet Memories and Experiences?

I had many memorable M&G moments. This one is the most recent and tend to come to my mind from time to time whenever I need a smile. Last summer, my 3 years old daughter was so excited to meet Anna and she was jumping up and down on the side while waiting for the family ahead of us. Anna saw her. She gave my daughter a big smile and jump over to her. They were jumping hand in hand for a while. The moment really touch my heart because the moment felt so genuine--the excitement and happiness in my daughter's eyes, as well as Anna's kindness.

That's a very nice memory with Anna and your daughter.

I have three from our trip this October.

1.) Tink! She was our last character M&G on our first day at MK. She was amazing!!! Spent so much time with my daughter and really just had fun and played with her. We were so wrapped up in it that we forgot to get her autograph. My favorite moment was her back and forth tickling with my daughter.

2.) Ariel at CRT, she was silly, funny, and really got my little one to laugh while doing fishy faces. She also spent a lot of time at our table and seemed to really enjoy the interaction, which in turn made my daughter enjoy it more.

3.) Tiana was the best at interacting with our WHOLE family, she insisted that we all come and get involved and not just watch my daughter. She was very sweet and made us all very comfortable. I enjoyed that interaction a lot!!!

I got two. One is mine. The other is my kid's.

My son was 15 mths. Walked up to king Louie. He starts petting his fur. King Louie gets down and starts rocking him over his shoulder like a baby with his huge hand on his back. Kason throws his thumb in his mouth and falls asleep while Kate is getting baloo's autograph. It was pretty cool. He looked to comfortable. I got so many great pics of that from all around king Louie. I forgot to get Kate's pic. Lol

My story. Taking pics of the kids with repunzel. She looks at me and my huge camera and goes. Didn't I see u a few months ago with two more kids? Lol. I laughed and said Ya. My neighbors kids. We took them with us a trip earlier. She remembered cause my camera flash was messing up the photo pass guys and they yelled at me and she said his camera looks better than ur (photo pass) so let him do his thing. Lol repunzel rocks! But she did remember us!

Probably a decade ago at California Adventure. We went to Ariel's Grotto for dinner and had went through the line to meet Ariel. Our daughter (8 at the time) finishes up her meal and we were seated just outside the doors to the meet and greet area so we let her walk in and watch. A little bit of time goes by and I figure I better go see what's happening. I open the door and there is my daughter seated with Ariel and Pluto playing cards together. She was able to play with them for about 15 minutes until another family came down.

My first ever trip to WDW was back in 1997 when I was just 5 years old. I don't really remember much about that trip, but I do remember the interaction I had with Tigger. He was great, he had me bounce with him, and was always taking my cap that I was wearing. The other 3 times I went to WDW with my parents as a kid I made sure to see him during the trip. Last year as an adult when I went with my Fiance it was the first time I didn't see him on the trip.

For those that grew up in the 80's and 90's any fond memories of Dreamfinder and Figment?

April 2007 - we had finished Star Tours and were exiting Tatooine Traders and Darth Vader and a stormtrooper walked by and set up at the top of the hill beside the store. It was amazing for both my 3 1/2 year old son and me.

My daughter was almost three and we were meeting Tink when the CM asked if we had met talking Mickey yet. My daughter said no, and the CM said "You're too cute to not meet Mickey," then she whisked us through a series of secret hallways and ushered us in to see Mickey with no wait! Those are the moments when Disney Magic is at its finest!!

When my husband and I were on our honeymoon, we stopped into the Toy Shop in the UK pavilion of the World Showcase. Mary Poppins was in there, as well as Pooh, Tigger, and Eeyore! It was unexpected and the place was empty so we had the characters to ourselves for at least 10 minutes before other people started filtering in. That is my favorite M&G to date.

Can't wait to take the kids next year and see who they like best!

Figment is still one of my favorite parts of Epcot - I loved meeting him in the 80's...very sad he and Dreamfinder aren't out anymore!!

I love how in-character they can be. A couple experiences we had that were fun:

My youngest was 3 at the time and she couldn't go on the rides she wanted to because she was too short, so I ended up taking her to all the characters. When she saw the evil stepsisters and Lady Tremaine, she pulled me into the line. I don't think she realized they were villains until she got to the front of the line, because by then she was a little scared, but she tried to be brave! Anastasia and Drizella were funny and overly sweet, complimenting her on her nice hair and outfit, when it was obvious to the adults that they were really acting jealous of her, so they stayed perfectly in character while making her feel welcome.

When we met Mr. Incredible and Frozone, Mr. Incredible put on a little show for our video camera, dashing this way and that to see if my husband could keep up. Then, when he was backing up, her ran into Frozone. They both got into a play "fight", puffing out their chests in a kind of "you want a piece of me?" way. Complete bravado.

When we met Anna, she wanted to play hide and seek with the kids. So she made them cover their eyes and count to ten while she stepped two spaces behind her and hid behind the curtain there. I'm sure she does that with a lot of kids but it just made me think how the real Anna would TOTALLY do that!

Once we were at Akershus and when they do that little parade, Aurora took my daughter's hand and led her around, then talked to her for a while. A few days later we were waiting for Impressiones de France and a woman told us that Aurora and Belle were meeting there and would we like to meet them? Well of course my daughter insisted, so we went over there, and it was the same Aurora. She remembered my youngest and even brought up things they'd talked about before. Which I have to say, was AWESOME luck!

The most heart warming was one we saw on U tube years ago.

It was a Mom and Dad and 2 girls, the older one, 8 years old maybe, the poor girl was crippled and had 2 canes, the type that fit into her fore arms. Dad was apparently getting video.

They were at rope drop at the little road that lead to Toontown. Mom and a young gal CM were talking and the Mom was saying Mickey was the girls favorite character and this was her first day at WDW and this what she wanted to do first!......Meet Mickey

Looking at the CM's face you could see she was putting something together in her mind. The CM said she had to do something and walked back to Toontown and went into a side door. The video stopped and picked up again with the other CM letting the family past the rope and told them to walk down the road, around a little bend in the road and there was Mickey standing in the road with the first CM. The little girl started to run as best she could with mom helping her and right into mickeys arms! It was magical. They sat on a bench and soon Minnie came out and joined them.

After a few minutes other folks and kids started coming down the road and the 2 girls now, each holding Mickey or Minnie's hand, entered the house with the rest of the crowd following.

That was a tear jerker!!!.

That meet and greet and some of the others I have seen in this thread, is Disney Magic......that is Disney Pixie Dust! That is what puts Disney parks and products, head and shoulders above anyone else!

AKK

January 2014, my then 16 year old son was being kind of grumpy at AK. My boys just wanted to ride rides but my daughter wanted to do the meet and greets. Well when my 16 year old saw Dug he got so excited and then when it was our turn he ran up and hugged him and Dug hugged back and they took some cute selfies. My son was smiling from ear to ear. We had a similar experience at HS with Phineas and Ferb, they were giving high fives and being goofy with my teens. And this is why I say meet and greets aren't just for little kids.

Meeting Goofy at Disney's Vero Beach last Thanksgiving. There was no one in the lobby so my 4yo daughter had him to herself for a good ten minutes. They played around in the lobby and around the Christmas tree. They were...well goofy!

We went in where the line was for the M&G with woody and buzz and we just thought it was a place to take some fun pictures and we ened up at our first m&G - i cried and buzz gave me a hug

Then at MK, pluto saw my birthday button and tried to steal me away from the DH, pluto "proposed" to me and pretended to run away with me - we thought it was hillarious!

Figment is still one of my favorite parts of Epcot - I loved meeting him in the 80's...very sad he and Dreamfinder aren't out anymore!!
Figment did return to doing meet and greets between 2006 - 2008 but we don't talk about Figzilla.
