We will be in Disney for Ds's 4th Birthday and I want to pick out the best one for him. He does not have a Favorite character (at least not so far) but does love all the typical "boy" Disney movies. Is there a particular place that does a better job at making Birthday Dinners extra special? Thanks!

Chef Mickey's for dinner. they had several little children celebrating birthday's

Have a great trip!

Chef Mickey's for sure. You get a placemat that you get to take home that has Mickey, Goofy, Minnie, Donald, etc. on it and it says something about being special...I forgot the exact wording.

Hope he has fun!!!

hi
i too, am looking for advice on character dining for my 4year old, and also a 2 year old.
am i right in thinking chef mickeys is located at contemporary? if so are we still able to book this if we are not staying in resort?

what about the one in dinoworld? my son loves dinosaurs and my daughter loves Donald, i hear thats wheres best to catch him??

all advice greatly appreciated!!!:goodvibes

Chef mickeys is located in contemporary. You are more then welcome to eat at any resort resturants. I recommend making a reservation for it and i think you could probably tell them over the phone its for a birthday so they know a head of time. We went a few years back and it was a great time. Lots of food and characters everywhere. Worth every penny. Enjoy:)

We had a great dinner last year at Liberty Tree Tavern at the MK. It was family style and they brought the food to you vs a buffet where we kept having to get up to get items. The characters came around several times and the place was full. They spent a nice amount of time at the table. We saw goofy, chip and dale and someone else, maybe Minnie? The kids at the table next to us were celebrating a birthday and the characters and staff came over and sang and made a fuss. I plan to make reservations there our next trip.

my son likes the Crystal Palace best, they get the children up for a parade every 30 minutes (maybe hourly) which he loves even though he thinks he is a bit grown up now (10). The other place to consider is CRT, the boys get a sword as their gift but they do make birthdays really special with the help of the fairy godmother.

I'll be a second vote for Crystal Palace. The Pooh characters are great and they do a little parade, with kids (especially birthday boys/girls) in tow. We did DDs 4th birthday there (she is now 8) and have been back several times.

The advantage to Crystal Palace is that the food is actually pretty good. I know Red Velvet Cake was always one of my late FIL's favs, and I think of him when I have it there.

Good luck!

You don't have to be in a resort to eat at a resort. You could park at MK and tke the monorail to CR.
Donald's character breakfast is no longer in Dinoland, but is now at the Tusker House and is called Donald's Safari. The characters are Donald, Goofy, Mickey and Daisy:love:

Cape May Cafe for breakfast at The Beach Club is great for a goofy character breakfast. Chip and Dale, Minnie and I'm not sure if it has mickey. It's a pretty good buffet.

CP did such a great job for our youngest DS's bday that our older 3 (1 is a teen!) were jealous! They want to go back for their bdays. CP decorated our table with streamers and confetti, and he got to "lead" the parade. It was a great start to the day!:goodvibes

My 3 year old had his birthday in Disney this past year... First, make sure you tell the CM when you make the reservation that there will be a birthday and when you check-in at the restaurant... Different places will do different things for him:

1) I agree Chef Mickey does a nice job... We went for breakfast and he did get the place mat and cupcake... It was a lot of fun and he felt special...

2)Nothing special happened at Cape May but we do enjoy their breakfast on a whole...

3)Tony's decorated the table with tons of Mickey sparkles and streamers before we sat down and gave him a very big ice cream for a birthday dessert.. That was nice...

***4)Donalds Breakfast (now at Tusker House) gave him a card and called him up to the middle of the room and every one sang the Happy Birthday song... My boys love this breakfast most... We have been every trip and that will continue for a while...They love the characters and the atmosphere... And us adults like the food there!!!!

Remember you can also order a special cake to be delivered during the meal!
