DH & I are taking my MIL to Disney in December. She is over the moon about this trip and we are trying to figure out a few ways to surprise her. We were thinking of doing a character meal for her. Is there one that may be better for an all adult party?

DH & I did LTT on the last trip, but that is the only character meal we've done before.

We are a group of adults and have done LTT, Park Fare, and Chef Mickey's. Our favorite was LTT. Chef Mickey's seems to cater more to children, and Park Fare wasn't very atmospheric, though the food was more upscale than Chef Mickey's, which might make it a better choice for adults!

I have heard that the Garden Grill in Epcot is pretty nice, and it's a character meal, too.

We did Garden Grill in Epcot for lunch last Monday and it was great. Food was good, character interaction was great. The table beside us was just adults and at one point Pluto ran past us (he came back though) to jump in a group picture with Mickey and Dale at their table. We thought that was cute!

We also ate at 1900 Park Fare for dinner with Cinderella and Prince Charming and Chef Mickey's and I too feel the kids enjoyed that one better.

Whatever you choose, I am sure she will have a great time. This was my first ever experience with character dining and I had a blast!

I'd recommend 1900 Park Fare. Both breakfast and dinner are very good.......best buffet food of all the character meals IMHO. The strawberry soup is not to be missed. But that isn't the primary reason why Park Fare is my recommendation. Location is another factor. The Grand Floridian is a gorgeous resort to see. The grounds are nice to walk, and the lobby is a wonderful place to just sit for a while, especially in the evening if the band is playing or someone is on the piano. That isn't much of an attraction for kids, but for three adults it is very nice. Lastly is the characters at the meals. They are more "face" characters. Alice in Wonderland, Mary Poppins, Mad Hatter (all at breakfast) and Cinderella and Price Charming (dinner). These are characters you can actually strike up a conversation with. It's a lot of fun for an adult character meal.

Last year a friend and myself (two thirty-something moms) had breakfast at Ohana with Mickey, Goofy, Chip and Dale. It was a lot of fun. When we called for the reservations, the CM asked how many kids & I said "none" :) and the CM just laughed! :rotfl2: The food was good. Family style and all you could eat with this yummy pinapple bread to start with. The servers were all very nice. They introduce themselves as "cousin".

DH and I are in mid 50's and love Park Fare (breakfast, lunch dinner), Crystal Palace (lunch and dinner), Chef Mickey's (breakfast), Liberty Tavern (Dinner). I really enjoy the little girls all dressed up like princesses also!
