Best character experience? All ages !!

All the characters were great, but Merida absolutely stole the show last week. The woman who played her was absolutely phenomenal with the kids. In DD6's eyes she skyrocketed from an afterthought to 1A next to Elsa, maybe even surpassing her. She immediately wanted to dress as Merida at the BBB.

Also talking Mickey was another highlight for the girls.

Three experiences!

-My twin sister and I were visiting our CM cousin in May 2012. We are all big character fans, so we visited Town Hall back when Aurora, Cinderella, and Belle resided in the space. While visiting with Cinderella, she asked if I had any luck looking for my princess. I corrected her and said, "Well, actually my prince". She looked me straight in the face with the sincerest smile and said, "I'm sure he's out in the kingdom somewhere. You'll just have to keep looking". Amazing moment.

-This most recent trip when Ariel interacted with my mom dressed as Ursula.

-One of the more recent and most special was on our massive cousins' trip to the WDW. I, myself am a huge fan of The Little Mermaid and the character of Ariel. She represented a lot of things to me growing up and was the ultimate Disney dreamer in my opinion. The day we went to Cinderella's Royal Table, we all wore our matching cousins shirts. They all had word clouds on the front in the shapes we desired. Naturally mine was Ariel with her hand extending to the sun and I got in the same blue as Ariel's new park dress. I also wore my Little Mermaid Mickey Ears and had an Ariel backpack with me. To say I was outfitted for my favorite princess was an understatement.

We all got to CRT and when the hostess checked us in, she said something along the lines of "Oh, I bet I know who your favorite princess is". I responded "Princess Jasmine" with a laugh.

So, we're seated at our table and the princesses come out in their royal announcements, and Ariel comes straight to our table and straight to me. We talk for a little bit, mainly about her human legs and her new dress. I ask her if I could twirl her in her new dress and we did. MAGICAL! Even though I'm 21, it was still so lovely.

We were seated by some stairs, she walked by later and tripped and bit and without missing a beat said, "Oh, I'm just still getting used to my human legs".

I loved it.

poorunfortunateseth, great story and pictures to go with it. She looks excited to be meeting you, too.

We met Tinker Bell this June in the MK and she was outstanding. Had the character quirks down, perfect. My daughter is nuts about all the Disney fairies movies and started to chat Tinker Bell up about Terrance, Vidia, etc. This Tinker Bell obviously memorized all the films because she responded just like she really did know those characters and lived that life. She really was phenomenal.

My favorite character moment, though, was in the Paradise Pier Hotel in Disneyland. We did the character breakfast in the PCH Grill, and near the end, Pluto must have been bored. He walked over to the windows, opened the blinds, and proceeded to do the PERFECT imitation of a dog watching cars go by. It was hysterical. And come to think of it, this is (I think) the only character meal in the country where he could do this, because (I think) this is the only character restaurant that looks out on a street with cars driving by!

love to hear when you can tell the character knows his or her respective stories!

In 2005 we did the Family Magic Tour in MK. At the end Peter Pan pops out of the bushes and surprised everyone. Everyone on the tour then got to walk through Fantaslyand with Peter to Mickey's PhilharMagic. While we waited to go in to the next show everyone around us was asking if that was really Peter Pan. my daughter got to sit next to him during the show. He was in character the whole time. He kept talking and was so excited about the whole show. After the tour we had lunch at CRT. One of us still had our name tag from the tour on. Wendy was walking through the dining room, noticed the name tag, turned right around and asked the children if Peter was behaving himself earlier when they saw him. They were so surprised that Wendy knew they had met Peter. I loved how she made the whole experience even more magical.

omg i want to do that tour so bad but its not offered the day we are going to the park, did y'all get time for photos?

Chip and Dale are always great.

On our most recent trip, I had a backpack which I put off to the side when meeting characters, and when we were done taking our pictures with Chip & Dale, Chip picked up my backpack and tried to walk away with it. I had to ask him nicely several times to get it back. It was hysterical!

Yes, we were able to get pictures and he signed autographs.

oh thats awesome that makes me want to do that on my next trip to disney in 2015! thank you! was it mostly young kids, would it look well odd if a 22/23 year old guy who's young looking was doing the tour by himself or with a friend? just curious lol

My strangest character meet was with Ariel. I thought I was waiting in the line for the ride "under the seas" nope... Found myself when I arrived to the front in the cue to meet Ariel (single 50's female here). But figured to make the most of it and have a photo the CM took with my phone!

However I always make it a point to see Mary Poppins each and every trip! I don't believe it matters how old one is. I think Walt wanted everyone to be and feel like a kid when you enter the gates to what he created!

There were people of all ages on the tour. From babies in strollers to grandparents. Believe me my 32 year old friend and I were having as much fun as our kids. I would love to do it again!

Ariel took a good 5 minutes with my son and he loved her told her all about his day... She was amazing. Had a good one with tink too. Ds was Peter Pan.

awe i bet tink was ecstatic! I've heard they like it when you wear something of a character of them or one from their life, bet they go all out when they dress up as the character too bad they don't let us older kids

i made a peter custom airbrushed shirt though:cool1:

Jack Skellington, at both the Halloween and Christmas parties. He was so interactive and took his time with everyone including the adults. He and my wife were playing with his plush as a voodoo doll for some time. Laughing the whole time.

Honorable mention goes to chip and dale. We saw them a Garden Grill a few years back and they kept taunting each other and messing with my son's plush of the other character.

There have been so many, but this one sticks out. DBF has a number of health issues and uses a wheelchair in the parks. 1 morning in AK was a little rough trying to manuver. King Louie came over and adjusted the wheelchair himself so DBF could stand up to get a photo. Took a ton of time and is a fantastic memory .

truly love this:jumping1:

On my last trip I was exploring the World Showcase shops and stumbled upon Pooh and Tigger in Christopher Robin's room (had no idea they met there) and they had no line! We could hear the Beatles cover band playing and Pooh wouldn't let me go after I hugged him and he started slow dancing with me. We danced for a while and he even kissed me on the cheek! Tigger was felling a little left out, so of course I had to dance with him too! And they both wanted lots of hugs before I left. It was a truly magical meet, and it was even better because it was unexpected. I felt like a little kid again!!
