We have 3 kids (ages 9, 9 and 11). If we were to choose one character dining restaurant for the week, which should it be? Either breakfast or dinner.

I like the Gardin Grill in the Land Pavillion at EPCOT for dinner. Because of the way it's set up, the characters all make it to your table, and you don't get disturbed by people at other tables.

I would avoid Crystal Palace. Your kids are old enough not to need to see the Pooh pals, and that place is just loud and crowded. It was the one place I'll never go to again.

Chef Mickeys! The atmosphere is great and food is good. Crystal Palace is also great, but your kids probably would enjoy the Chef Mickey's characters more. We were very disappointed with Ohana's.

CM's if you can only do one.
We also did a CRT lunch, Cape May Buffet breakfast, and Crystal Palace dinner. CM is fun - music, napkin waving, etc.
CMB was much more laid back - only 3 characters, though.
Dinner at CP was nice, too - we did not experience the crowd like the previous poster. Pooh characters, though.

As I mentioned earlier, if you can only do one - do CM! (You should see the big 4 - Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, and Goofy ... we also saw Chip and Dale. Lotta' character bang for the buck.)

Is Ohanas a character restaurant? What about it disappointed you?

The food wasn't very good (probably mostly because it was cold.) We had a late seating (had a 10:50 ADR, got seated about 10:40). So the place was pretty much cleared out. We actually got TOO MUCH character time. Characters came out just as our food did - and every time I got DS to sit back down, here they came again. Couldn't get hot food, coffee refills etc. The food is served in a large skillet family style. Eggs (runny), bacon (not crisp), sausage, mini Mickey waffles (over cooked) and a basket of breads.

I took my grama to dinner at LTT back in 2003. The food is good (sponsored by Stouffers) and the characters were good. Chef Mickey's for breakfast is my favorite however.

Wow, what a complete opposite experience than what we had. Great time with just enough character interaction and very good food! The bread is great! The special juice that they have is great too.

We went at 9am or so, not sure if that made a difference in the experience, but we would recommend it. Great views of the lake with Magic Kingdom as the background. Nice! :)

A good character dinner is the 1900 Park Fair at Grand Floridian. The buffet food and service is very good and it is the Cinderalla characters including Prince Charming, who you don't see anywhere else that I know of.

My favorite character breakfasts are Crystal Palace, and Donalds Breakfastosaurus. I love the Breakfast Lasanga at CP and character interaction has always been tops for us at DB, even thought it's just 2 adults. (Maybe we should take the kids there at Christmas!?!)

We ate dinner @ 1900 Park Faire last december and it was great. Food was wonderful. They had a great selection and even a little mini buffet for the kids. Strawberry soup was mm good. Characters were great and kept on coming. We had tried to get CRT but cld never get a ps. Would have loved to eat in the castle but my daughter 7 had such a great time it was well worth it. We also has ps last Dec for the Ice cream social @ garden grill which was my absolute favorite. Ice cream sundae was huge, price was low and Characters were great, we saw Mickey, Chip and Pluto. I was really crushed to find out they no longer offer this.

I also loved the Ice Cream Social - it was my kid's first real interaction with the characters. It was also the least expensive way to have a character "meal". I hope they bring it back.

Crystal Palace for Breakfast and Chef Mickey's for dinner.

Crystal Palace - I saw kids of all ages lovin' on Pooh, Tigger, and Piglet. Food was great. Character interaction was good.

Chef Mickey's - Great food, great desserts, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip, Dale, Donald - nuf said.

This is at AK and is the only one that has Donald in it as well as Mickey. Stay away from Princess CRT, Akerhaus. I think Ohana had terrible food it was cold and the sausage were like huge brats that my kids won't eat.
Liberty Tree is in MK and had wonderful food. Minnie, Pluto and Chipmunks are here.
