WOndering what people think the best character breakfasts are... rank your top 5 based on food!

Have only done CRT breakfast. Food was good. Recommend it to anyone that asks.

On food, Ohana's is number one for sure! We are doing Crystal Palace for the first time on our upcoming trip and I've heard its great.

Tusker House is the not only the best character bfast but the best bfast in WDW IMHO

Ohana is great! We love it there and always go back on each trip.

Chef Mickey's- pretty pricey for not so great food. I mean, it wasn't horrible- just standard buffet food. But I guess for the higher price, we expected more.

We're trying out Cape May in December so i'm hoping that's a good one!

I've also heard nothing but great things about Tusker House.

This is just my opinion:
1. 1900 Park Fare
2. Crystal Palace
3. Ohana
4. Chef Mickeys
I have enjoyed character interaction at all of them, but found the food to be the best at 1900 Park Fare.
29 trips to Disney World and counting...next stop POFQ March 2014

We are doing our first family trip in February, so no personal experience. After reading reviews and looking at our options, we decided on Crystal Palace and Tusker House.

I had an 8:25 for CP, but kept trying back for earlier times and now have an 8am. Looking forward to starting off our trip with that one and seeing things before the park opens. I made a 10:30 for Tusker. I am hoping to do 1-2 things at AKL before breakfast (safari?) and then eat. At that time of day I've heard they sometimes are beginning to bring out lunch food, especially if they are later in seating us, which seems not uncommon!

Of the ones I have done for breakfast I would rank them:

1. Tusker House
2. Cape May
3. Crystal Palace
4. Akershus
5. Ohana

In my opinion, Tusker House is quite a bit better than 2 and on.

Our favorites:

Tusker House
Chef Mickey's
Cape May
Crystal Palace
1900 Parke Fare

We went to both Crystal Palace,Chef Mickey's , and Cape May in June 2013. I know there is not a lot of love for Chef Mickey's here but honestly it was the best character breakfast buffet of our trip. It had a huge variety and was worth the expensive price they charge. It is also very very popular among guests. We had great character interaction, our wait staff was attentive, variety was huge, everything was plentiful and clean. We hadn't been since 2006 and we had had a great experience then. We had not returned because by the posts on this board it had gone down in quality but honestly it was just as good as 2006, if not better.

I am a chef Mickey's fan!

We tried Tusker House for the first time during our trip last week, and we absolutely LOVED it! Their breakfast buffet was awesome.

tough to rank them - they all have different pluses and minuses - here's some of what we've done:

Chef Mickey's - IMO, the best classic character breakfast. Food is a hit or miss buffet (we've been a few times) but character interaction is GREAT.
Location: in Contemporary. Not very scenic. But you do take monorail.
Food: mediocre
Characters: great

Crystal Palace - with Pooh and Friends. For us, the key was booking the breakfast BEFORE THE MK OPENS! There is just something great about going up Main Street before the crowd is in. A must-do IMO. And the Crystal Palace is a really nice setting.
Location: GREAT, especially if you book early am before MK is open
Food: very good. Buffet with omelet station
Characters: mediocre (unless you love Pooh and crew)

1900 Park Fare - very convenient if you stay at GF. And nice if you want an excuse to visit GF. The only reason I would go back is if the GF was important to you, or if you really want to see Mary Poppins.
Location: Good. The dining room isn't great but the GF is.
Food: Very Good.
Characters: Mediocre (Pooh, Tigger, Alice, MHatter, Poppins) unless you LOVE one of these characters.

We have done the following for breakfast:

Akershus
Crystal Palace x2
Chef Mickey’s
Tusker House
Hollywood and Vine

In order of food preference:

Tusker House is a clear #1 for us. It is just amazing in every way: food, atmosphere, character interaction, all of it. And guava juice :cloud9: I have an 8:15am ADR for our upcoming trip.

2-5

2. Crystal Palace (great variety, fresh and plentiful, sweet character interaction, photos in a practically empty MK)

3. Akershus (fresh fruit and pastry, main course served family style, sweet interaction with multiple princesses, Belle in her yellow gown, 1 TS credit)

4. Hollywood and Vine (cheese grits :cloud9:, fresh fruit and nice variety, heaven for the Disney Jr fan, when they say play and dine, they mean it.)

5. Chef Mickey’s (typical breakfast, fun atmosphere, fab 5 great interaction)

Now, if I were to include things like atmosphere and character interaction things may change ever so slightly, but it would also depend on which of my family you ask. I did Akershus for my daughter, Hollywood and Vine for my son and they each tolerate each other's meals. Crystal Palace is mainly for me. The Mickey themed meals are for all of us.

Here are the one's that we have tried on our recent trip in order of both character interaction and food :thumbsup2:

1) Crystal Palace before park opening
1) 'Ohana (tied with CP for food and character interaction, maybe a hair lower because of the pre-park opening experience with CP. LOVED the unlimited POG juice and Kona coffee + coffee to go! I needed that!)
3) Akershus - character interaction was mixed, some princesses were a little grumpy. Food wasn't as great as CP or 'Ohana which both had some unique items, but still tasty
4) BOG - character interaction with the Beast was good, every thing else (i.e., food, service, etc.) not so great

Next trip we are hoping to try Chef Mickey's, Garden Grill, Tusker House pre-park and CRT pre-park along with 'Ohana breakfast and Crystal Palace (dinner). :coffee:

We loved Tusker house it was so good. Lots of choices the jungle juice is great too!

. . . 1900 Park Fare
. . . Garden Grill
. . . Ohana
. . . Garden Grove
. . . 1900 Park Fare

. . . Cape May Café
. . . Hollywood & Vine

. . . Crystal Palace (barely enough time for a photo)

Best Atmosphere (surroundings and ambiance):
. . . Cinderella Royal Table
. . . Tusker House

. . . Ohana
. . . 1900 Park Fare
. . . Garden Grill
. . . Crystal Palace
. . . Hollywood & Vine
. . . Cape May Café
. . . Garden Grove
. . . Chef Mickey's

NOTE1: Results are listed from best to worst. Overall, Tusker House
wins due to best food and the length of time the characters stay at
each table. A close second is 1900 Park Fare. By far, Chef Mickey's
is the loser, due to mediocre character interaction and almost terrible
food quality. The very distant second worst is Cinderella Royal Table,
due to the brief time at tables for characters and the new menu
