Hello,

We are going to WDW Oct 14-22, we want to take our DD3 to a chracter breakfast. Which is the best? We saw Chef Mickey's on the travel channel and she said she wanted to go there, but I would appreciate your opinions too!! :rotfl:

We love Crystal Palace  . If you can, try and get a PS/ADR for the first seating which is before park opening -- it is pretty cool walking down Main Street before the park opens. There are lots of great photo ops and you get a head start on Fantasyland before the crowds can get all the way up Main Street.

Chef Mickey's is always popular (loud & chaotic but popular), we like Crystal Palace better though. In Magic Kingdom has Pooh characters and great food. You can't go wrong with any really, have fun!

You mean you aren't going to try for CRT???? :goodvibes Especially with a little princess that would be perfect. If you don't want to try for that, Chef Mickey's is a fun, party atmosphere.

With a young daughter I would certainly try for CRT. My daughters have great memories of eating there and the character interaction was great. We have also done both Chef Mickey's and CP and enjoyed those also.

Ditto! CRT was great.

CRT is great, but we also loved Ohana's breakfast. We went early and got to see all the characters within may 15 min! Then the kids got to do a little parade/dance with the characters. The place was almost empty when we left

Little ones seem to really like the Pooh characters at Crystal Palace. But since your DD saw the TV show with Mickey and friends at Chef Mickey's and that's what she has said she wants to do, I think I'd stick with that. ::MickeyMo

Thank you! My husband also talked with people at his work, and they say CRT too!! I was kinda figuring that too seeing as she is a little princess her self. She will love it!!
Thanks again

Be sure and read the sticky at the top of this forum for advice on booking this breakfast, its a challenge!! Chef Mickey's is great, Crystal Palace is great but we really enjoyed 1900 Park Fare too. Alice, Mary Poppins and the mice from Cinderella as well as Pooh and Tigger. The food was the best of the breakfast buffets we have had at WDW. If you don't get Cinderella's Royal Table for breakfast they also have lunch and 1900 Park Fare has a Cinderella dinner. Good luck with your planning!

What characters are in Ohana's and how're the prices?

Thanks

We like Chef's Mickeys and for the girls, the Princess storybook is easier to book and the food is great.

You might be careful about booking too many character meals though. When I took my 8 y/o GD this past January I had CRT breakfast (for the Princesses), CP dinner(for Pooh and Friends), Chef Mickey's dinner(for Mickey, Goofy, Chip & Dale), and Donald's Breakastosaurus for (Donald & friends). I didn't realize Donald is in the lobby at Chef Mickey's, but it was a good thing. My GD enjoyed CRT, CM, and CP, but decided she didn't even want to go to Donald's, as she preferred to sleep in that day.

When I went back in May I did breakfast at CP and enjoyed it as much as we did dinner in January. It depends on which characters your daughter wants to see, i.e. Mickey and Friends, Pooh and Friends, or the Princesses.

If I was only going to do one though, with a little girl I would try for CRT. Every little (or even big) Princess deserves to eat in the castle at least once. Read the thread at the top on this forum and use all the tips (punch 1 and 1 and immediately ask for CRT before the CM even gets through talking and hopefully you'll get it. I got it twice for last January and just cancelled the day I decided I didn't want, didn't even try for it in May, and got it again for this September.

I like Ohana with little kids as its a family style meal and not a buffet. I find schlepping my plate and my kids plates back and forth doesn't make for an enjoyable meal.

The princess breakfasts are plated as well.

No one has mentioned it yet, but our favorite character breakfast is 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian. Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland, the Mad Hatter, Pooh and a Pooh Friend (Eeyore or Tigger usually) are there. The food is great, its fairly quiet, and the character interaction there was the best we had at any character breakfast.

We love Crystal Palace with Pooh and friends. The characters are great.

If you want a big variety of characters, then Donald's Breakfastsaurus is really good. There is Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Donald, Daisy, Chip and Dale. They work the rooms and you get your photo ops with all of them.

I like ohana's because it is served family style and is very relaxing way to start the day with out having to stand in line for breakfast. Mickey Goofy Chip and Dale were there last time we went.

I understand the appeal of CRT for the girls but what about the boys?? Does anyone know if Buzz or any of the Pixar stars for that matter appear at any of these?? My DS3 would just LOVE that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
