I am trying to plan a character breakfast for my kids, a girl age 6 and a boy age 9. What are some of the favorites and why. Any suggestions as to time and place would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Elizabeth - first time to Disney will be 11/19 thru 11/25

We have been to three. Donald's Breakfastasaurus, Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace.

We liked them all...but if I had to pick i would choose Crystal Palace. The food was the freshest...the service the best and the characters were frequent and visted long enough to enjoy.

We did like the others too though!

We have done Donalds, Crystal Palace, 1900 Park FAre & Chef Mickey's. We felt more rushed at Donald and Chef Mickeys and were just REALLY impressed with the food at Crystal Palace. We decided to give it a try because of reviews we had read and I dont think we will miss it again. The character interaction was great and like I said, we loved the food.

They are all fun and it depends on the characters you want to see.

We enjoyed so many character breakfasts last year when we went... But if I had to choose I'd say Chef Mickey's. I'm sorry that another person felt rushed there, but we didn't feel rushed at all. They really made us feel special there. We celebrated my DM & DF's 28th Anniversary there alst July and BOY did they know how to swing a dinner napkin :rotfl: Honestly though, you'd have to choose a character breakfast that would make your kids happy. If you know what characters they like best that would be a great start. I wish you luck ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo :flower:

I've done Donald's Breakfastasauras and Crystal Palace....Donald's was a cool atmosphere but Crystal Palace is far superior in food quality. It also depends on what characters you like...I love Winnie the Pooh but I had done that several times and wanted the experience with different characters...next time I want to see Donald and Mickey and friends though I will probably head to Chef Mickey's. Crystal Palace is my #1 choice though.

Thanks for the responses. Now my son is saying that he doesn't want a character breakfast and my daughter is not sure. Is it really worth it? Would we be better off spending more time at MK? Are there other opportunities to get photos with characters?

Thanks,
Elizabeth

::MickeyMo Honestly they are really fun, but if you don't want to spend the $$ to meet the characters I promise you'll find them in the parks. Also, if it's the time you'd rather spend in the park you're worried about I'd go with an early breakfast @ Chef Mickey's or another. We have a ressie there @ 7 A.M. so we don't waste any time for the parks ;) Just an idea... Either way I hope you and your family have lots of fun!!!

Since your son is nine, how about the NEW character breakfast featuring STITCH (and lilo too). Although it's @ the Poly(Ohana) this is just a monorail ride away from the Magic Kingdom. It's also the only meal with the "blue dude", plus you get Mickey and Pluto too! My son is eight and crazy for Stitch. We are going to surprise him with this breakfast for his birthday!!

We usually do character dinners, sometimes lunch. The breakfast is a little pricey for what we eat, but we have been waiting to dine with STITCH for soooooo long......

Just gotta have the blue dude... Hope his manners are good. Sometimes he is so gross!!!! Boys just love it!

Last time, my kids (DS 10, DD 14) too weren't too keen on a character breakfast; they just wanted to get to the parks, but I made 2 anyway as I knew they would get up in the morning and be starving anyway. If you make the ressie early enough and plan it keeping in mind the park you are going to visit, it doesn't really take much time out of your day. We did Crystal Palace on our MK day and we all loved it. We had a very early ressie, the food was very good/hot/fresh and the characters were great. Piglet and Tigger were incredible with us. On our Epcot day, we did the buffet at Cape May at the Beach Club. The food here was even better! Our ressie was for 7:30, the restaurant was empty so the characters (Goofy, Chip & Dale) spent ALOT of time with us; Goofy actually sat down at the table and was hysterical. The more we laughed, the sillier he was. Minnie didn't walk around the restaurant but was outside the entrance for pictures. We then just walked over to Epcot, through World Showcase and were at the entrace to Future World in plenty of time for opening.

These are both great breakfasts, and it depends on what characters your kids like and where you are going that day. O'hanas might be a great choice for you too, since Lilo and Stitch are now there. We're going to try that one on our Jan 06 trip.

Good luck!
