Best Car Rental Rates

I have 12 days in May for $207. (Alamo) Walmart code & Ent. coupon
17 days in July for $285. (Alamo) Walmart code and Ent. coupon
10 days in October for $138. (Alamo) Walmart code and Ent. coupon
Mem. Day weekend (National) using free days.

I am new to this car renting thing - usually DH does it, but he has been extremely busy with work so I said that I would deal with the car rental.

Anyway, I only need a car for 24 hours (we plan to stay with a friend in Ocala our first night - then drive to Disney and rely on Disney transportation). It seems that you guys are getting some good rates. I booked through Alamo for $66.85 for a 24 hour period and this includes 2 booster seats and it's for a mid-size SUV. We want to pick up at the airport and drop off at Disney (currently with Alamo, that would be the car care center). That seemed to be the best price when compared with Avis, National, Budget, Hertz, and Dollar. I can't find a coupon to use since it's for a 24 hour rental. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I would love to see if you can do this using both codes. The link for Alamo's coupon says in the bottom "not to be used with any other discount codes"... Hope it works!

First off, thanks everyone! I am glad I looked at this thread. I didn't even think to use my Costco or BJ membership to use for discounts. I haven't rented a car in at least 10 yrs! We were thinking of flying but the rental car killed the deal. However, with the Costco or BJ's discount it cuts the price almost in half of what I first saw.

I do have a question that hopefully someone can answer: I have many reward points on my credit cards that I have been saving. I can request 2 $100 gift certs. to Avis for a rental. Would I be able to use those along with the Costco discount? TIA
You may have to call their '800' number to ask them about that one. I have never had enough reward points in any program to use it for a rental car. That would be valuable info to post here for others if you called them to find that one out! :goodvibes

Can you share with me what code(s) you used for the National October rental.
Thank you
I would like to know too, please! :sunny:

Here's an offer with Northwest Airlines and Alamo:

Reserve a midsize car through SUV now through December 31st, 2006 and get $15 off and receive 500 Bonus Miles! Offer good on rentals of 4 days or more at participating Alamo location in the United States and Canada.

For reservations, click below or call Alamo 1-800-GO-ALAMO. Be sure to request Contract ID Number: 7012015 and Coupon Code: AD7 at time of reservation.

Please provide your WorldPerks® number at the time of rental.

There is also a link to make your reservation. Does this make anyone's rate better? It gave me a $200.00 base rate for the full size on my dates in October......not much help for me.

Here is a National special if you use your VISA card to pay for the rental:

"Get one weekend day FREE with a compact through full-size, 4-door car rental from National when you pay with your Visa® card. Your rental period must be a minimum of 3 days and maximum of 4 days and include a Saturday overnight keep. Valid for rentals in the U.S. only.

To redeem this offer, click the link below and make a reservation. Or call 1-800-CAR-RENT® and mention coupon ID number 10009839 and contract ID number 5001068. Print this page and present it at counter upon arrival. Certificate redemption is solely the responsibility of National.

Valid: 01/01/2006 to 06/30/2006"

I brought my rental for a minivan down from $315 to $292 for June 9 through June 20 using these codes at Alamo....corporate code: 430710, rate code: by and coupon: d24c

Here is an offer for Budget in combination with Alaska/Horizon Air.

"you can receive 1,000 Bonus Miles plus one day FREE of the daily time charge. Offer is valid on Intermediate through Full-size 4-Door car rentals of three or more days, including a Saturday night, at any participating Budget airport location in the U.S., Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean between October 1, 2005 through December 31, 2006."
