Hi all! It’s been a long time since we have stayed at Fort Wilderness! It was always as kids w our parents or as kids, but now with our own family (and friends). We will be driving down from NH with friends towing their 5th wheel. Our college kids and older son, DIL and grand daughter (her 1st trip to WDW) will be joining us shortly after we arrive.

We want to get two side by side sites and rent a camper/5th wheel for our family. I’ve browsed a little on line … but I’m looking for RV rental company recommendations that deliver and set up st FW. AND - any advice for booking 2 sites next to each other?

Also - while we are at it … what loop/site area do you recommend that’s semi centrally located - close to marina, pool, bathhouse, etc… I assume we will bring or rent golf carts.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome back!

A lot has changed at the Fort.

For the camper rental, Disney allows only 4 companies to deliver and set up at Fort Wilderness, here is the list from Disney's website:

As for the campsites, there is not 1 category that will get you close to both the marina and the pool. For close to marina, go with preferred. But for close to pool and recreation, you can go with either premium or meadows premium. You mentioned having a golf cart, having a golf cart will help make your campsite location less of a big deal. But if you go with premium, 500 loop will get you a nice middle distance from the marina and the pool and in meadows premium, 800 loop would work well.

Speaking of the golf cart, Disney has very strict rules, if bringing your own, you must have proof of insurance. If renting, there are now very few off site companies renting to FW guests and you have to meet them off site and bring the cart in yourself and also have the proof of insurance from the renting company. You can always rent from Disney though, 407-824-2742 up to 1 year in advance.

For 2 sites together, you must both book the same site category, once you have your reservation numbers, call Disney and have them add a "traveling with" to both reservations. You will need your reservation number and the name and reservation number of the other party, and the same for your friends - they will need your reservation number to have it added to their reservation.

Feel free to ask any other questions you may have.

We have used Meacham's to get a trailer for our daughter and family to stay in next door to us in our MH. We like premium loop 1100 for its proximity to the pool and the bus stop is right at the entrance to the loop.

Meacham's was a great company in our experience but check out their trailers they offer and other Disney approved companies to compare along with their pricing.

#1 priority is to have a great family vacation! pixiedust:

Well, to use the old phrase, "THAT DEPENDS".

To generally answer your general question, between the FW boat dock (marina) and pool are loops 600-800, (even 900 if you stretch it), 100-400, and 700 (more/less). Those include Premium Meadows, Premium, Preferred campsites all which cost different amounts (slightly).

It's all about the elasticity of how much you want to pay, how much (general) space you need in your campsite, and where you want to be. Within any of those categories, there are "some bigger than other" sites and "some smaller than other" sites. Welcome to our world! :upsidedow

There are plenty of maps around about loops, categories, and location. There are many bathhouses in/between loops so IMO that is not a determining factor IMO. Where will you spend the most time? In the MK (be close to docks)? Going to the other 3 parks (close to Outpost bus depot)? More time in the Fort (close to pool or movie/singalong)? How much money you want to pay for a campsite location instead of merchandise, food, souvenirs, experiences?

It's a simple equation, no? :teacher:

There is no simple answer to a simple question. Everyone's expectations are unique.
