best cabin rooms and deck on fantasy

Does anyone know the link to look at the post that has the pictures/ shows you which balconys have the white walls on them? Im looking to book Deck 7 on Fantasy deluxe family oceanview with verandah that sleeps five. Midship close to elevator! Thank you in advance

The rooms with the whitewalls are Category 6B and 6A. Category 5E also has a whitewall, and has oversized balconies facing aft. This thread gives a complete list of categories on the Dream and Fantasy:
http://www.disboards.com/threads/complete-list-of-stateroom-categories-on-the-dream-fantasy.3231583/

Since you say you are looking for a family oceanview with verandah that sleeps 5, you need a category 4D, 4C, 4B, or 4A. None of those have whitewalls. Note that Cat. 4E is sold as a family verandah room, but it is actually a standard sized room but with an oversized verandah. None of those sleep 5. You said you want midship, and you are lucky, since all Cat. 4D, 4C, 4B, and 4A rooms are midship. Just look at the deck plan, and choose one with your desired proximity to the elevator, but make sure that it is one that sleeps 5.

The thread that you are thinking of, which shows the pictures, is:
http://www.disboards.com/threads/dr...see-the-pictures-index-now-in-post-7.2586763/

That thread is for the Dream, but it has the same layout as the Fantasy. Note that some of the rooms have changed categories since then.

Good luck and enjoy your cruise!

My family booked 4 Category 4E rooms in a row on the Dream. They are the ones with the extended veranda on deck 5. We LOVED them. We had 5650, 5652, 5654 and 5656. Those four rooms together took up one whole "section" of balcony (hard to explain, but there are gaps between the chunks of rooms on that deck), so with the dividers opened we had our own HUGE veranda, with loungers. I'll never forget sitting out there all of us together on the loungers at night looking up at the stars and perfectly seeing a shooting star.

Other than that, my favorite deck for a "standard" veranda is deck 8 or 9. We've been on deck 10 before and while noise wasn't an issue, it felt more closed in having the overhang directly above you.

We did 8594 on the Fantasy it's a 4B that is just past midship. We liked it because it was only a few decks away from the top or the lobby...and since it was in the middle of the ship we could easily get to any of the 3 sets of elevators. We just rebooked this exact same room for May 2016.

We are going on a 3 night Dream trip in about a month (going to WDW/Grand Floridian after) and booked 5650 (4E) and it is one of the rooms with the jumbo oversized verandas. We thought we would check one of those rooms out since we were only on for 3 days. Check the pics out of that veranda in this thread below!

Just out of curiosity, what do you prefer about Decks 8 and 9 over Deck 7? Deck 7 has staterooms above and below, just like Decks 8 and 9. Do you prefer the view being slightly higher, or is there something else about those decks that you prefer?

I just prefer higher decks, mostly to be closer to the pools/13 Forward. I like to go up there to watch sail away and docking at each port.

We prefer 8 or 9 also to be a deck closer to the buffet, snack stands, sports and pools. However if you have smaller children a lower deck closer to the kids club might be better. As someone else posted, stay away from a deck that has a theater, pool, or club above or below if you don't want possible noise to bother you in your stateroom. Also we tend to like staterooms closer to the back elevators as the midship elevators always seem to be crowded and are basically useless to you if you can't get on because they are full all the time.

I am looking to book a room and can't find my DCL book where I could see elevators and rooms nearby I'm on the website and can't see the elevators anyone have a post or site where I can see room numbers and elevator location please

I thought when I was on Dcl site yesterday I saw elevators and rooms? Maybe it's just acting up today or I am looking on wrong floor or deck plan

Just got off the Fantasy - myself DH and DS (17). We stayed in 8536 which was forward/starboard side; three doors from the elevator. We had a balcony; . Had a couch/bed but no pull down bed. We really liked this room. Quiet except for the kids running down the hallway. Easy to get to everything.

We did have someone smoking on a balcony nearby. Guest services was very helpful and on top of it; followed up with us each day and the deck manager spoke to DH personally.

Last year we upgraded to an extended balcony on deck 5 aft. This was not my favorite. The extended balcony was always wet and a regular balcony is fine for our needs...sitting outside with a drink and a book. In the past we have also had a navigator and a white bottomed balcony. If you want to sit in the chair and see out, go for the clear wall. There is more vibration in an aft cabin, especially during docking procedures. At night, it was like a mild massage bed feeling.

Happy to answer any questions.

Glad to hear!! We are cruising on the Fantasy in May and we are in 8538. First time on a DCL. Thanks for the information!!

By the way, this is a thread I started a while ago that explains all of the different categories of stateroom on the ship. You may find it helpful.

Hello. I am taking my mother and my 3 year old daughter in December to the Fantasy cruise. I have never done a cruise ship before and I am overwhelmed by everything that I must choose.
Right now I am looking at this option:
Stateroom 6588
Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah
Category: 04D
Deck: 6
Location: Midship

I want to know if this is a good deck. I want easy accessibility to the dinning areas because my mother is 80 years old and relatively quiet so my daughter can nap.

While making the reservation, it did not give me the option for dinner and now I am stuck with the late evening... I very much need the early sitting because of my daughter. Do you know anyway I could change this?

The other option I looked at is:
Stateroom 8082
Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah
Category: 05B
Deck: 8
Location: MID
but I see that it is close to the elevator and I assume it is more noisy.

Which one is better?

I will really appreciate any advise, comment, tip, recommendation to this first time cruiser
Thank you!!!

I can't comment on the first room, but my wife and I have stayed in room 8080 on the Dream (will be in 8080 on the Fantasy in January). We loved the location, and the elevators were not noisy at all for us. We also were in 8576 on the Fantasy before, which is starboard directly across from that location. It was also quiet. The elevators are in an alcove across from the stairs, so they are around a corner from the rooms.
