Best Cabin loops?

Hi,
This will my family's first stay on Disney Property and I wanted to know if anyone could tell me the best loops to ask for. I know that Fort Wilderness is large and I was hoping to be close to the pools and near a bus stop. I don't really want to go to the expense of a golf cart as we are only staying there for three days for my DD 3rd birthday.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

We stayed in the 2300 loop last August. We were within walking distance of both pools (5 minutes to one and <10 minutes to the other), the outdoor movie theater (<10 min walk), and a bus stop was 1 minute out of our door. I thought this loop was excellent.

I believe you'll really like the cabins as they are much more comfortable and quieter than the hotel rooms. Plus, you'll be able to give your children a nap in their own room while you relax in the living room.

Also, the transportation was excellent. We never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus (usually 3-5 minutes) and the ferry ride to the MK was really relaxing and offered great views of the fireworks at night.

Overall, it was a fantastic experience and one I would definitely do again.

Thanks for the advice, I just called Disney and added that request to my reservation. I have been so lucky getting nice CM's, Not only did she add my request, she also changed one of my PS' for me.

I am getting really excited...watch out for my counter soon!

If by chance you are not able to get 2300, we were thrilled with the 2500 loop as well. Steps to the bus, the pool, and the laundry. We were just in cabin 2502, which was the 2nd cabin in, on the left hand side, might be a little noisy from the pool in the warmer weather, but for us in January, it was PERFECT.

And we were in 2514, which was awesome, not as far back as you would think, as 2500 loop is pretty small. Not as much noise from the buses there also. Bus stop is at the entrance to this loop, laundry and pool are the next entrance. Takes literally minutes to walk to the stop or the laundry. I would stay there again in a heartbeat! We used the buses every day, and they are SO easy to use. Never had to wait long at all. Was a joy to ride after driving 22 hours!

I personally was told to go for the 2500 loop - well, we got lucky that is was under renovation when we went because we were placed in loop 2600 which was, in my opinion, much more private and wonderful. I walked through loop 2500 and was not impressed at all in that there were little woods to separate the cabins and the cabins backed up onto one another. Loop 2600 is directly across from the pool and has a bus stop at its entrance (the same one that the people in loop 2500 have to walk across the street for). It was very wooded and private. We did have a cabin at the start/finish (as you may see it) of the loop and the loop is big so you can get into the back and have to walk a little distance - which is an advantage of loop 2500 in that it is much shorter. I personally was very glad of our loop assignment and will always ask for it into the future.

keypooh,

There are 4 or 5 steps up to the cabin, that I think would be manageable with crutches. There were also several cabins with wheelchair ramps (HC accessible). Not sure how they are configured inside, but might be worth asking about when you checkin.

I would totally rather do the stairs at the cabins with crutches than the ramps - those ramps looked like they were really long at the HC accessible cabins. to get the right slope they seemed to go forever and most loop back onto themselves - but they also have the option of stairs at these cabins too.

But as a note to someone on crutches and using the stairs, the railings are very strudy and wide to give you a good grip as you are ascending with only one good foot/leg. :wave2:
