anyone here have Best Buy Reward Zone membership?? DH bought it in September when he bought me my new camcorder. For those that don't know what Reward Zone is, you purchase the membership for $9.99 and everytime you purchse something at Best Buy, you earn reward points that you can use toward future purchases. Let me say that I would never, ever purchase a membership like this, but DH did because the salesman told him they were running a special that week, that if you purchased the membership that week, you would receive 30,000 bonus points (equivalent to $10) so the cost of the membership would be cancelled out so to speak. We would also receive points for the camcorder purchase, about 58,000 points.

I went online, registered the membership card and sat back and waited for my points to post. That was on 9/29. After a short time, I saw that my 58,000 points were pending, but nothing about the 30,000 bonus points. I emailed them and they continued to tell me to just wait and see if they posted when the 58,000 points posted. They couldn't say one way or the other about the bonus points until I pushed the issue. Finally they told me that, yes I would be receiving the 30,000 bonus points.

Well, they have not posted yet. I checked with them yet again and was told on 11/11 that they have the "investigation team" looking into it and it could take 10 days to resolve. I emailed them on 11/22 and today I get a reply saying "I understand your frustration. We are looking in to this. Feel free to check back in 10 - 15 days"

Are you kidding me?? I wanted to use the points for Christmas shopping ~ I am NOT waiting 10 - 15 more days to find out what is going on with these stinking bonus points!!!!!

Has anyone else had problems like this with Reward Zone???

Sorry to hear of your problems with the reward card. I have one too, we purchased our Pioneer Elite Plasma with all the bells and whistles and extra equipment from them. For a $10K purchase we got over $400 in certificates. The only problem I had was actually getting a live person on the phone - the automated number goes round and round... and the long wait to get them. They were not issued for a few months and then it took three weeks to get them in the mail. I do not understand three weeks to mail a certificate that is ready to go? :confused3 So I waited about three months for them, but of course spent them in about three minutes :earboy2: Good luck, don't give up!

I am on hold with them right now...I actually did get a woman on the phone that was nice enough, but pretty much said she couldn't do anything about it. I am holding for a supervisor. I know it is short $$$, but it's the whole principle. Don't tell me I will get bonus points then never give them to me!! It seems so unethical to me.

The certificates will come in the mail so you may not be able to use them for xmas shopping anyways.

I suggest you don't renew it when your year is up. I got free cards when they started the program and they keep renewing them

I thought you could get the certificates via email?

I definitely do not plan on renewing this program...we don't even do a whole lot of shopping at Best Buy anyway. I just thought we could use the points to get a couple of DVD's or something for gifts.

No, they come in the mail. And you usually have 3 months to use them. They renewed me for free too. The $9.99 initial cost was totally worth it for me. I've probably saved $400.

We got ours by e-mail, I think you just have to tell them that when you sign up. If you make a major purchase than it is worth it, we bought a TV and I think got about $200 in certificates. I didn't renew it but my husband just bought something for $300 and signed up again, we got $15 by e-mail. Of course the print out of the certificates didn't scan and it took about 5 minutes for the cashier to figure out how to subtract the $15. Since I have the card I will probably buy more DVD's and CD's at Best Buy, but I would never get the card if that was all I bought.

well I didn't really get any farther with the supervisor today. I do have to say she was very pleasant and apologetic...I know it's not her fault, but it's still so frustrating. There is no reason that this should take this long but she kept deferring to the corporate office. She did say she would send me 15,000 reward points now while I wait for the remaining bonus points to post. If she can send the 15,000 points now, why is it so hard to send the whole 30,000? :confused3

Thanks for listening to me vent...I feel a little better now ;)

I did request the certificates via email online...hoepfully they will arrive without incident

I'm not happy with ours either - I can't even register! We bought it in September and I can't register online. I finally got an answer from them and they said we have to wait to get something in the mail...???

I got mine over 2 years ago and feel it was totally worth it. Bought it when I made a big purchase (over 1500 bucks) and got over 100 free. They renewed it free the first year. 2nd year I paid to renew and got double back. So it paid for itself. I have had 30 bucks in free CDs this year and just got 10 bucks more to spend :)
I would probably renew again. It has been worth it to me.
I like Best Buy :flower:

Sorry to hear that you are having problems. I just got another $5 Best Buy Reward Zone certificate in the mail today. I did notice that in the fine print it said that it was only good on purchases of $10 or more. I don't recall seeing that on the certificates before. I am also not pleased that they have a short expiration date on them as well (if you consider 3 months short). But I should not complain because to date I have received $110 in these certificates. No wonder I don't have any money.
