Hey Guys!!
So I will be going down in the Fall and my roommates and I have decided to live in Patterson (fingers crossed we get it, though I am sure Chatham would be just as good). I am really excited for the program!! I was looking at an areal view of the apartments and I was wondering what building is the best to live in?? Which ones are the closest to the gym?? Also, during check in do you know which building you will be getting?? Thanks guys!!

They'll more than likely choose for you. That's what happened to me.

From my personal experience what happens is they ask you what size apartment, then complex, then offer a few different availabilities (usually by floor) and you tell which of the choices you want. I lived in building 8 (towards the sign/4-way) and it was really good since it was in a corner, there was a lot of parking , and there was a laundry house right there. I also lived in building 12 which was in the middle (enter complex and go straight in, last apartment building on the right but between it and international is several rows of parking and a few out buildings) I preferred 8 since it was quieter, but it wasnt next to everything like 12 was. It would be awesome to be able to go back to the ole 8107!!!

The turn buildings at certain times.... so depending on your check in date, you'll be placed in one of the buildings that were turned for that date (this is the reason you room with people with the same check-out date). Everyone who moved in on my day was placed in one of 2 buildings; they were filling up building 6 first, and then I think 8 was second.

6 is at the entrance to the complex, so the walk to the bus was the shortest, but we were also right next to the security entrance which could get loud at night.

Oh that makes a lot of sense!! Thanks for all the info guys. I am glad that they tell you what floor you would be living on, I really want one with a balcony. lol :cool1:

I lived in building 8 as well. I liked it. There was a lot of parking around it and there was a laundry right across the street. The downside was the pool/gym/clubhouse was pretty far away. I lived on the first floor and was SO glad I did since I didn't have to carry laundry/groceries up those stairs!

In relativity, nothing is actually "far away". It's all convenient IMO, Although I am used to walking around a city-spread campus...so I guess that's just me! ...Building 2!!! <3 miss it.

PS- they all have balconies!! :)

Im also going down there this summer/fall as fall advantage and want to live in Patterson as well! :) Cant wait!

I feel I have to live vicariously through others going down early :hyper:
