I am looking for recommendations on buffets. It will be 2 adults, no children. We like big flavors, and are not picky. But, we avoid pork. We don't really care about characters.

Try Tusker House at Animal Kingdom.

are you looking for lunch/ dinner?

I like tusker house and crystal palace

If you aren't on the Disney dining plan and are looking to enjoy a buffet on Friday or Saturday night, I highly recommend the Seafood Sensation buffet at the Swan. The selection is not vast, but the quality of the offerings is excellent.

Boma and Tusker House are fairly similar. However, TH has characters and is in the park; Boma is at Animal Kingdom Lodge. I would go for Boma with 2 adults. The food at both is really good and flavorful. The food has African and Indian influences.

I also like Tusker House and Boma, but they should be on separate days, or it's too much food all at once.

We are not buffet fans overall, but have found a few standouts in our disney adventures (though only at breakfast time, we've never done anything after that). Our favorites include Tusker House, Boma, and The Wave

We thought the Wave had a buffet also, but we were just there and it only had a breakfast buffet (which is excellent).

Tusker House and Boma. Garden Grill at Epcot is really good too.
We didn't care for Trail's End's buffet.

I have never heard of this, which restaurant is it at?

It's the Garden Grove. The Seafood Sensation buffet is available on Friday and Saturday nights although I have seen some websites say Thursday as well. Maybe it is during high season.

The quality of their crab legs was far superior to those served at Cape May the same week--bigger, meatier and easier to clean. The prime rib, salmon, mashed potatoes and green beans were all super. Plus each person gets half a stuffed lobster.

AAA gives a 20% discount and for under $30 per person, it's a great deal. Pluto and Goofy visit the tables too, and there is no ADR nonsense. You can book a reservation on Open Table easily.

Unless you're on the Dining Plan, it's an excellent choice. :)
