Best Buffets in the World….

I'm going to go against the current theme here....

I don't like Boma. The breakfast was decent, but I HATED the dinner. Everything (including the rice) had cinamon in it. I love cinamon, but not so much on my savory foods. Plus it's a pain to get to unless you have a car....it just feels like forever sometimes.

1900 Park Fare for breakfast

Crystal Palace for lunch

Whispering Canyon for dinner (family style)

Whispering Canyon has to be the "funnest" one of all though!:woohoo:

Please tell me more about Cape May ??

My family LOVES Seafood, is it that good? :confused3

Here's reviews a-plenty:

... and you can tell they're all over the map. That's soooo typical around here!

I wouldn't classify Cape May as a purley "seafood" buffet ... it's more of a regular buffet with a little seafood. The big deals are the mussels and the clams, and they're quite good. There is typically another fish, maybe salmon. You'll also find landlubber items like rotissiere chicken, ribs, some veggies and other meats. The usual kid stuff. A lot of folks rave about the desserts, and I'd give them a solid "OK" rating. My experience is that a lot of Disney desserts look better than they actually are.

Having said all that - we've been to Cape May plenty of times, and would go back in a heartbeat.

You won't know if you like it unless you try it, y'know?

First I'll let you know which buffets we've done.

Boma (Dinner)
Crystal Palace (Breakfast)
1900 Park Fare (Breakfast)
Chef Mickey's (Breakfast)
Hollywood and Vine (Lunch)
Garden Grill - Family style no buffet (Dinner)
Mickey's Backyard BBQ

Out of those i would say:

1) Best Food

Boma! No question, no competition. Food was delicious, huge variety, and very very fresh.

2) Best Service

Well it's all buffet, so there really isn't much of service. All they do is remove your plates. So as for service it's all the same, IMO.

3) Funnest time

Out of the character meals Mickey's BBQ was the best time. Food was GREAT, Show was good, Character interaction was good. We also enjoyed all the other Character meals except garden grill.
4) Best overall experience

We loved Boma and it will be a staple for us each time we go.

****

5) Worst Food/worst experience

Garden Grill...food inedible and character interaction was just so/so.

I couldnt AGREE more about Garden Grill! It was HORRIBLE :scared:

FTR...

Boma always has some sort of salmon served with the other grilled/roasted meats and there's usually a seafood stew or soup. My favorite is the coconut curried seafood stew. Divine. Truly. They also have a watermelon tomato blue cheese salad that is just this side of heaven. My dd15 says they have the BEST mac and cheese on WDW property, as well... so, they have that going for them, too ;)

Here are the ones we've done:

Crystal Palace for lunch and dinner
Akershus (Norway) for lunch (everything but main entree is buffet)
Hollywood and Vine for dinner, Fantasmic package

Best food of the three was Crystal Palace, best desserts Akershus. Best service was without a doubt Akershus with CP close behind, best time was Akershus with the princesses and a fantastic waiter. Best overall experience again was Akershus except for our very late night dinner at CP with day-of reservations around 9pm. The place was almost empty and we had a 5 year old and 4 year old that fell asleep under the table and the staff came by several times and commented on how cute they were and took pictures of them. They also got all of the Pooh characters together for us and we got a great group photo of all the Pooh characters with our two families, one of my favorite photos from that trip. Hollywood and Vine was just "okay" and I'm not sure I'd eat there again even with the Fantasmic package, just because neither the restaurant nor Fantasmic really wowed me. I would recommend that everyone do it at least once though.

Ok fellow DIS’ers, sorry if this has been talked about before, but we are going in Sept with FD and am wondering what in your humble opinions are the BEST buffet for

1) Best Food
2) Best Service
3) Funest time
4) Best overall experience
5) Worst Food/worst experience (thanks vcgirl925)

Please be as detailed as you want, I want some ideas on where to eat and why, thanks for your help!!!

Forgot to mention that my kids are 12(son) & 16(daughter), son eats non-stop, daughter can be a picky eater at times but is very open to try new things!
