We've only eaten breakfast buffets. What is the best place for dinner?

We're not into exotic foods so we really like the buffet at Trail's End in FW. All american food at a great price. There's always some carved meat, different pizza, chili, chicken, you get the drift. Check out the full menu on allears.net. We do both the breakfast and dinner buffets there, lunch has changed and is so-so.

Boma is one of my family's favorite buffet. It has carved roast beef, chicken dishes, african dishes, lots of veggy and grain dishes (African Influence). Soups and salads w/ different unique combinations and dressings etc. and then there's the dessert station, wow! We love it, the kids love it!

Our favorites includes:

Boma-Flavors of Africa: Located at the DAK Lodge, this buffet serves menu items from Africa and other Pacific-rim countries. It is wonderful, especially the desserts! They offer American fare as well for picky eaters. Dine here for a late dinner to avoid high crowds and noise.

Cape May Cafe: Located at Disney's Beach Club Resort. If you love seafood and meats, you'll enjoy this dinner buffet. Mussels, peel n' eat shrimp, freshly baked breads, salads, corn on the cob and more make this buffet a true clam bake.

Ohana: Located at Disney's Polynesian Resort. So many people dine here for their character breakfast, which is wonderful. But many miss out on the dinner, which is fantastic! This buffet is different in that it is brought right to your table.

1900 Park Fare: Located at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. This is a character dinner and features a full buffet of all-American food. Their mac n' cheese is especially popular!

Biergarten: Located in the Germnay pavilion of EPCOT. We love this restaurant. They seat you with other families, which is a traditional German custom. Enjoy the best German food, beers, drinks, and live entertainment. It's Oktoberfest every night!

Enjoy your vacation!

Another vote for Trail's End (but don't tell anyone else) ... fried chicken, peel and eat shrimp, steamship round, turkey, ham .... bread pudding for dessert.

We've had great experiences at:
1900 Park Fare
Akershus
Biergarten
Boma
Chef Mickey's
Crystal Palace

We have dined at just about all the dinner buffets, I think we just missed Tusker House, and the food is just eh to blech at all of them except Cape May Clambake and Beirgarten...those 2 places are fantastic!

Our favorite was Chef Mickeys hands down. We had one of the first seatings and the food was plentiful, fresh and just good! We didn't like Biergarten AT ALL - had a late seating and the buffet appeared picked over. We didn't like the seating either. Boma also got a meh from us...it just didn't thrill us.

Crystal Palace & Ohana (not really a buffet, but all you can eat family style) for us. No one has mentioned it, but stay as far away from Hollywood & Vine as possible.

Oh, I forgot that we also enjoyed 1900 Park Fare for breakfast. It had a very nice selection, felt very classy, and the characters were fun.

My family loves Boma for dinner. The selection is unbeatable, and even though we may not be the most adventurous eaters, we still love the variety over seemingly blander dinner buffets like Crystal Palace or 1990 Park Fare... You know, we usually go to those other restaurants when we want time with the characters, and it's not so much about the food. I have heard, however, that Chef Mickey's has a good buffet, but we have not tried Chef Mickey's for dinner yet.

The Boma dinner buffet stations are amazing. It is worth the extra drive to Animal Kingdom Lodge.
We could easily eat there 2 times in a 1-week trip, even thought we're staying at a completely different resort.

We also love another great restaurant that has a nice cold lunch or dinner buffet (big salad, coldcuts, all-you-care-to-eat, etc.) and the "best of both worlds" with Princess character dining: Restaurant Akershus in Norway at Epcot. We're always surprised to get last-minute reservations at this gem, and the time we spend with princesses here is longer and better than the several times we've dined (for lunch) at the castle, both recently and in years past.

TG! I'm glad you wrote that - I wanted too but the last time I did I got a slew of nasty posts. ITA Hollywood & Vine was the absolute worst meal we had all vacation, actually all year.

Biergarten was great, we had Boma for breakfast but I've read mostly good things about dinner there. Liberty Tree Tavern is family style but I would recommend that as well.

Good luck planning and have a great trip.
