Trying to decide on two more TS meals and nothing really strikes me as a "must do". A buffet/family style meal sounds good. Character meals aren't that big of a deal (is that blasphemy here? ;) ).

I thought I'd get everyone's thoughts on their favorite buffet/family style meal at WDW.

FYI - GF is not a big seafood eater (I'll eat just about anything put in front of me) and we're already going to Boma and Ohana's.

Suggestions?

I have never eaten at The Trails End restaurant at FW but have an ADR for upcoming trip in Aug. From what I have read on the boards here, it is one of the best and cheapest buffets at WDW.

Biergarten is a must do for us.
Another vote for Biergarten. Lots of great sausages and the best Sauerbraten I've ever had. Oh yeah, they have these amber and dark brown beverages that are just wonderful.

We love Cape May for breakfast (characters) and dinner (non characters). The food is very good, plenty of it and lots of choices.

Same goes for Crystal Palace. We have heard such great things about Boma that we are going to try it for breakfast and dinner in Oct

You've booked the best two, IMO.

If I were going to book another buffet, I'd go for Crystal Palace (great location and better food, IMO, than LTT).

But don't forget the other sitdown places...especially if its just the two of you, its fun to experience some of the nicer restaurants.

Definitely Ohana if you don't have that. I would also suggest Crystal Palace. DH & I aren't big buffet fans, but we loved it. They have good food and awesome desserts.

O'hana and Beirgarten are the 2 i think you would love the most. There VERY hard to find any other places in the country that are similar to them, and I think most families would love what they do offer.... Enjoy

Boma is the best, but you're already there. I liked Biergarten and Crystal Palace. CP does have characters.

If Boma is out, here's an heretic suggestion :rotfl: ...................Fresh in the Dolphin (assuming you're not on the DDP). The food is excellent, and it's never crowded! :thumbsup2

I don't think you can beat Trail's End for value, but for something a bit different, I agree with your choice of Boma.
I know you say you're not too bothered about a character meal, but we LOVED Garden Grill. That was served family style (3 courses) and it was all lovely and fresh, healthy and tasty. Also the restaurant revolved around scenes from Living with the Land. The characters did spend time at each table if you wanted them to, but we saw plenty of people just wave them on. Also, the restaurant is a bit of a hidden gem and is not that busy or full of rowdy children.
Also, have you considered Whispering Canyon? That's served family style with normal bbq fayre (ribs, bbq chicken, pork sausage etc). Plus you could take the boat over to WL from MK for lunch which is particularly good value as you get the same meal (minus the pulled pork) as at dinner, but at about $7 less per person.
Good luck choosing :goodvibes
