It's that time of year again!

What do you use to get red clay out of baseball pants? This year both my older ds have pinstriped pants so bleach is not an option. Today I used spray Shout. It got most of it out, but I still had to run them through the washer a second time. I don't want to have to wash them twice after each game though! What a waste of time/hot water/detergent, etc!

Thanks!

1/2 detergent mixed with 1/2 cascade (I've used both powder and liquid)
let it set then wash

I just soaked a pair from yesterdays opening day : )

I use oxy powder. I have dual sinks in the my master bath and 1 always is soaking something. If its really bad i soak overnight. I also use shout but i think the oxy really helps.

OP here- Man y'all are FAST!!! :goodvibes

Quick question, this may be silly to ask but: Will using cascade, palmolive or any dish detergent harm a HE washing machine?

Thanks!

Palmolive has not hurt my HE and I have been using it for many years! :)

I rub it in a bit and don't use a ton.

Good luck!

This is what my mom used for all 4 us that played--it got to the point where my brothers told her to stop. There point was that the pants were always so clean that nobody believed that they actually got to play lol.

You can try Grease Lightning. My son's baseball coach swears by it. However, I haven't had to buy any cleaner yet, so it has yet to be tried in our house. The coach also says to never dry the uniform.

I squirt Cascade right on the stains and rub it in. Add detergent to the wash and they come out clean. I don't put them in the dryer, just hang them to air dry.

After you get those stains out...try spraying them with Scotch Guard before he wears them again. I spray my son's white pants after every wash and it helps keep the stains from setting. Why anyone would think white was a good color for baseball pants I'll never know :confused3

I use lestoil for my stain remover, mixed with tide and use the little tide battery operated brush to rub it in. Love my lestoil. DH is a plumber and it is amazing the greasy stains it takes out.

Fels Naptha it is a bar soap found in the laundry stain removal isle. It only cost $1 and it works great. We live in Ga and I have to deal with the red clay. I just rub this stuff on and let it sit for about 5 minutes and the wash it. Perfect every time and I have one kid that likes to slide even when it is not necessary.

It is safe to use in an HE washer because it does not suds up. In fact I use it to also make homemade laundry detergent.

Another vote for Lestoil! I always have a bottle in the house.

The most amazing stain remover I have ever used is ZOUT. The stuff really works wonders.

Does it ever! It even got the ink out of my 2 years old jeans and sweatshirt after he decided to color on himself.

The best, cheapest stain remover out there is plain old hydrogen peroxide.
You can use it full strength or dilluted.
I keep a bottle of it in the laundry room, and it works wonders!!
And it only costs like 99 cents a bottle! :thumbsup2
