We haven't been for almost 2 years, and my girls used to love breakfast at the River Belle Terrace. I see from the new menu guide that they no longer serve breakfast there...any other recommendations for breakfast in Disneyland? Do they still make the large Mickey pancakes at any counter service restaurant?

I noticed that the breakfast menu wasn't listed there either but I believe it is an error. I haven't heard anything about them not serving breakfast any longer and we are planning on eating there in a few weeks. Here is the current menu from allears.net. :) http://allears.net/dlr/din/menu/men_rbb.htm

Oh they certainly do serve breakfast! It is tradition to eat a mickey mouse pancake our first full day there...has been since I was 3 :)

This is a little off your question, but I have heard nothing but rave reviews of the breakfast at Steakhouse 55 in the Disneyland Hotel.

It was a tradition for me too! As a kid in the '70s and '80s and all the way up to, I'd say, maybe 2000, we would have breakfast one day out of our trip in River Belle Terrace (the other day was usually Goofy's), so I could have a pancake! When I was really young, I would get the Mickey pancake with a brick of ice cream on it rather than butter (start the day in a good, healthy way!;)) . Yum! Do they still offer that option or is it butter-only now?? The only thing that I didn't care for with RBT was the seating. Because it was always so crowded there, by the time we got our food, we would be walking around with these trays, trying not to spill our drinks, and it was hard to find available tables and not bump into people as we stood around, waiting. The last couple of times we ate there, it took a long time to sit down. One of my friends just got turned off to eating there because of that issue, so we stopped going in 2000, maybe even before. We still eat at Goofy's, of course, but our 'other' breakfast is usually at Carnation now. I would like to go back to RBT at some point! Especially if they still have bricks of ice cream!

Well I'm not sure if it is in error or not that it's not longer listed on the menu at River Belle, but there is always the Carnation Cafe. They don't do the Mickey pancakes but they have Mickey waffles. And I love the oscar scramble, which is: bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs with cheese and the most delicious potatoes.

We love RBT also, would not miss it on our first day.

We ate there a couple of weeks ago for breakfast and yes, the MM pancakes are alive and well. The breakfast as really good with the exception of the honeydew melon that was not ripe. Everything else was really good and the price was reasonable for the quality and amount of food served.

RBT is a tradition with my family as well... I love sitting outside and people watching while eating breakfast :goodvibes

We also eat at the counter service in Tomorrowland. The food is good, nice portions and best of all the meal comes with a drink so you save some $$

We haven't had breakfast at the carnation cafe.. Maybe on our December trip we will try it:)

RBT!! We love it there, I love the MM pancakes too. LOL :) No ice cream instead of butter tho, sorry Sherry. We don't have problems finding seats either, we have good luck just walking in, getting our food and finding seats, but that could be because we go later in the morning to eat. :)

We also love Minnie's breakfast but it's more $$ because it's a character meal. :)

Oh, drat! No ice cream? Rats! I always enjoyed having that option for the pancakes & waffles at RBT!

I really want to go back to RBT, seating or no. The seating was a pain but not enough to discourage me from wanting to eat there again! I want to return to RBT and eat at Minnie's on the next trip, too. See, I thought that showing up extra early at RBT would give us better luck in finding a table, but maybe you are right, Kerri. Perhaps showing up later in the morning is the way to go! That may be the key!

We generally start our day later anyway, we like to sleep in and stay late so we usually get to the parks between 9-10 and head on over to RBT after grabbing an Indy FP and checking the line at Pirates. If it's short we ride it first. :) So we get to RBT on average around 10-10:30. :)

We have had it both ways in regards to finding seating. Sometimes there are tons of tables and other times the line is out the door and you are lucky to grab a seat quickly. We started doing the evil thing of splitting up after we order and just before we get our food we send a table hunter off to grab us a seat lol so we just look silly walking around looking for our table selector :)

And too bad about the ice cream...Sherry that does sound better than the butter!

It's not necessarily a favorite, but we always tend to eat at the Tomorrowland Terrace. I guess we just always happen to be there as that's the side of the park we almost always start off at.

Are you looking for DL proper only? I like the breakfast at LaBrea, which depending on the lines to get into the parks can be fairly quick and easy. It's right by the bag check, so it's not too bad to fit it in.

We wanted to eat at RBT during our Oct trip. The food looked good, but after waiting 20 minutes in a looooooooooong line and moving up only 1 spot, we gave up. I assume it doesn't always move that slowly, but my kids didn't want to wait around any longer for breakfast when there were rides calling :goodvibes

Unfortunately, there weren't many alternatives. We ended up having popcorn and churros :scared1: , which very much goes against our normal way of eating.

When you send the table hunter off to find a table, do you have to carry his or her food to the table too, or have they already gotten their food and brought it with them?

Yes, I will miss that ice cream option! It was a big rectangular block of ice cream wrapped in paper or foil of some kind, and I would ask for that on the pancake/waffle instead of butter and it was yummy!!! Now it makes me wonder how long it has been since they did that! Thay may have stopped giving the ice cream as an option YEARS ago and I just didn't realize it because we haven't eaten there in so long!

Popcorn and churros are a GREAT breakfast.....when you're on vacation! :rotfl: too funny!!!! The line hasn't taken that long when I've been in it, the longest we've waited has been 15 min.

We would not feel bad at all about having a table holder. If it was that busy have someone wait at the table while someone else gets all the food...whatever works for you. :)

Depends on the group size, I was a server back in the day so trays are no biggie lol so I just send DH or we both just wait and risk it. But when our usual group of 13 goes it is harder to find seats so we send maybe 3 off to hunt tables and the rest of us bring out their stuff for them :)

Best breakfast? WhiteWater Snacks over at GCH.

Best value breakfast? Tomorroland Terrance, as it includes a beverage!

Only place I know of to get Mickey pancakes? RiverBelle Terrace

Even though I don't normally think of steakhouses (being veggie and all), I do think we're going to run into Steakhouse 55 for b'fast b/c their menu sounds really good!

In the new Dining info "sticky" on this forum, Riverbelle Terrace is listed as only serving breakfast and lunch in the description of the meals that they serve. This would be the info. that would need to be corrected there.
