Hi Folks,

For the first time ever we have booked a slightly more extended stay and have a <gasp> 'no park' day.

We are thinking of sleeping in, and having a nice big sit down breakfast to start our day of poolside lounging, shopping, golf, whatever...

So where's THE BEST non-park breakfast at WDW?

Where are you staying - not sure if it matters if it's in close proximity to your hotel.
In either case, we really enjoy Kouzzina. Plus, since you are doing a non-park day, you can hang around the area .. maybe rent a surrey bike .. or explore the other hotels in the area (YC/BC, Boardwalk, Swan/Dolphin).

Thanks! We're at POR, but it doesn't matter really - we're car renters for sure!

We are trying out Kona for breakfast on our departure day before heading out to our cruise.

Kouzzina is our favorite. The Grand Floridian Café is a close second. You may also enjoy Olivia's, which is conveniently close to your hotel.

Boma breakfast buffet is one of the best buffet in Disney, then walk around the resort to walk off the breakfast and see the animals.
Another one we love is Grand Floridian Cafe, wonderful breakfast and its not crowded and peaceful.

Add another vote for Kona Cafe. Tonga toast, pineapple pancakes, Kona coffee ... It is where we always eat breakfast the day we leave.

My 3 faves for resort breakfast are Boma at AKL, Kona at The Poly & Captain's Grille at YC. Oh man what I wouldn't give to have breakfast at any of those tomorrow!

I really enjoyed the Captains Grill at the Yacht Club for breakfast

favorite breakfast buffet is Boma...outstanding.

Favorite non-buffet breakfast is Kona Cafe...superb Kona press-pot coffee (and they'll give you a to-go cup for any luscious leftovers in your press-pot. Delish.) We LOVE the Big Kahuna breakfast...huge platter of food. We don't care for the vaunted Tonga Toast...way too sickly-slimy-sweet for us. But lots of people love the stuff. Our recommendation would be to get one order of that stuff to split, and the Big Kahuna to split, too in case you can't take the Tonga toast.

Our experience has been that both places were reasonable empty/peaceful/relaxing for breakfast...a lot of people prefer the character breakfasts, or quick service before going to parks, so not so hectic at these non-character breakfasts.

We like Captain's Grille at YC. You can do buffet or order from the menu. never seen it crowded and it is very relaxing. A great way to start a non-park day, IMHO. And we were at POFQ when we went and it is easy to get to. You can walk the beach or walk over to the Boardwalk, if that is your thing.

Love Love LOVE Cape May Cafe.

Might have to try Boma this trip since people are raving about breakfast. We always do dinners there and the family loves it.

I love Bomas!!! We are breakfast people and enjoy starting our day with a big breakfast our next trip in October we will be doing, Boma, Crystal Palace, Cap't Grille, Cape May and Akershus all winners in my book :thumbsup2

Boma is our absolutely favorite breakfast place. Kona would be second as we love the coffee press and the tonga toast. For non park charactor I would have to say 1900 Park Fare. Seemed to not be as rushed or crowded and we love the strawberry soup!

I would say Boma at AKL or Kona at the Poly. :cloud9:

Boma has a wonderful variety, jungle juice, and the food is YUM!!!

Kona....hello? TONGA TOAST.

I have also heard great things about the Grand Floridian Cafe, Kouzzina and Captain's Grill. Since you are at POR, it may be convenient to check out Kouzzina or Captain's Grill, which I've heard nothing but wonderful things about. :goodvibes
