Trying to plan as much now as I can since I'm supposed to be planning my wedding instead :rolleyes1 Just wondering what the best things would be to take along for breakfast and snacks. None of us are big breakfast people so we are not going to use a CS for it and I know that the kids are more than likely not going to eat a single snack that I pack but I want to at least give it a try......

I always bring Tootsie Rolls. They don't take up much room, they don't melt, they take more than a second to eat, everybody loves them, and they're chocolate!

Of course I pack more than that (especially when I'm thinking about breakfast--granola bars and minibagels--or planning healthier fare), but our Tootsie Roll addiction was the first thing that came to mind when I saw your post. My kids consider them an amusement park tradition. (Please don't tell them we can buy them at home, ok?)

Smarties work great, too!

We take pop tarts, those mini bags of muffins, peanut butter and crackers, ind. packages of goldfish crackers or other snacks, Chex mix, chips, etc. If you are staying somewhere with a fridge, you could take cereal and buy milk when you get there. Really, anything that the kids like to snack on at home will work. Fruit snacks are also good.

For Breakfast, try Pop Tarts, Fruit, Granola Bars, Breakfast Bars, etc....

For Snacks (my DD's are 6 and 2) we'll be taking Beef Jerky, Slim Jims, Fruit Snacks, Handi Snacks - those crackers with cheese, bottled water and some Kool-aid individuals packets, Rice Krispie Treats, my DD's also love that Kid's Snack Mix with pretzels, cheese balls, M&M's, Doritos and Chex cereal. I plan on making a Wal-Mart run the night we arrive - DM-i-L is meeting us there with her car, so she and I will go grocery shopping upon arrival.

Hope this helps! Also, we did this when DD turned 4 and the only snack she asked for each day was a Mickey Ice Cream Bar. $2.50, but that's all we bought as far as snacks.

Poptarts and chewy granola bars are good for b-fast. For snacks in the park I always buy the mixed box of cookies and the mixed box of cheezits and the like. Oh and rice krispy treats can't be beat...don't forget the water flavorer stuff I always refill my bottles with water and put in some lemonade or fruit punch flavor.

Are snacks permissable in the parks? I heard that they would be confiscated! But I'm sure we brought our own water and fruit last time with no problems...

My toddler insists on eggs for breakfast every morning, so we'll be having eggs. Otherwise I'd have a bowl of cereal or an iced mocha and call it good for the morning. For snacks we're mostly carrying larabars which are fruit and nut bars. Last time we took a mixture of roasted nuts, m&ms and dried fruit. For the toddlers I'll have a pudding cup, a couple of cheese sticks and some canned fruit in the bag.

On the dining plan we didn't carry snacks - we just bought something and split it around whenever anyone was hungry. I'm really only carrying larabars this trip because I have a restricted diet and can't have ice cream anymore.

We always pack zone bars, cheese sticks and go-gurts. All are great filling enough snacks that travel well :thumbsup2

I've never heard of people having food in a bag confiscated. I'm not sure how security would view a cooler on wheels but snacks have never been a problem.

I used to always take poptarts, chocolate granola bars, and a box of those mixed snacks from Nabisco (little individula bags of Oreos, Chips Ahoy, NutterButters, etc) and a case of Mountain Dew, which I used to think was the breakfast of champions.

This year, we're eating healthier, so I'm stopping and getting a box of Cheerios, 1/2 gallon of 2% milk, some bananas, and DH's favorite "Heart Healthy" Tropicana juice. That will be our breakfast every day. Our snacks will be the 100-calorie bags of Wheat Thins, Chips Ahoy, Fig Newtons, a box of the 90 calorie Quaker low-fat granola bars with Oatmeal Raisin and Chocolate Chips (they are really quite good), boxes of raisins, and bottled water.

In May, we took the little boxes of cereal and NutriGrain bars for breakfasts, plus styrofoam bowls and plastic spoons. We stayed at the Poly and had a refrigerator so bought some milk for the cereal and DS2's sippy cups. This worked well for us as DH and I aren't huge breakfast eaters and a little cereal with a NutriGrain bar was plenty for DS. We had also packed those little bags of snacks - goldfish crackers, some cookies. However, we were on the DDP and really didn't eat many of these snacks due to the snacks on the plan. Sometimes snacked on them at night while DS was sleeping and DH and I were out on our balcony, but we did bring a lot home with us.
Oh - and we didn't have any problems taking the snacks or water bottles into the parks. The Crystal Lite singles to mix into the water bottles were a life saver - the water was just too yucky to drink alone!

I second fruit snacks. They come in Disney characters (Toy Story, Lion King, etc.) and they are easy to carry. Granola bars are also good - there is a variety of types on the market. They work great for those who don't like much of a breakfast. I found that eventually my DH would eat a granola bar if he got hungry enough. At least try to pack snacks - just don't over pack. Remember they can always be brought home.

Have fun planning your wedding!! I know it is a stressful time, but try to enough some of it.

For breakfast I love the Quaker Oatmeal Breakfast Squares. Oatmeal keeps me full for a long time, unlike the Nutri-Grain bars, etc.. where I am starving in 2 hours!

Tootsie rolls. That's a wonderful suggestion! I like starburst for the same reason it doesn't take a second to unwrap and eat...they chew them a bit! But tootsie rolls would be even more satisfying!!!!

We also take fruit snacks & chewy granola bars for the parks.

Bfast: b'fast cereal bars, mini bagels w/ cream cheese, sometimes real cereal and milk w/ bananas. Always have some fruit on hand at the hotel like bananas, apples and oranges.

Just an aside about fruit snacks. They are very appealing to toddlers/preschoolers but you really need to watch them. My DD gagged on them on two different occaisions and the last time we had them I noticed they had a choking hazard warning on them. I'd try to avoid them with younger kids.
My DD loves freeze-dried strawberries, like the ones that are in Strawberry Cheerios. I think they are kinda nasty, but she loves them and they are lightweight and easy to pack as a snack. Goldfish crackers are always a pleaser too. She also likes the mini m&m's that come in the little plastic tube, which is nice because you can give her a small handful then close the tube back up. We are going in September and will have a car, but we are staying at all-stars, so no fridge. I plan on bringing cereal for the room along with single packs of paramalt milk or soy milk that we can toss in a cooler over night to chill. DH loves granola bars for breakfast.

We now travel w/ an electric kettle - perfect for instant oatmeal and cup-0-noodles. Our kids like to crank the AC up to full blast and drink hot chocolate but that's probably a little weird.

For our Disneymoon...I packed muffins, rice crispy treats, Pirates of the Caribbean gummies, snack bars, small bottles of Gatorade, water bottles, juice boxes, Teddy Grahms, and snack mix! I never need anything for breakfast, but my DH has to have a little something. We always plan 1 main meal a day and then fill up on the snacks we bring along in our bag. I have been doing this since I was little with my family and it really helps with saving some cash! :thumbsup2

For breakfast I'm planning to bring some of those pre-packaged cereal bowls and plastic spoons. I'll send DFiance down to the food court in the morning for milk and donuts (using snack credits). We have a couple of breakfasts planned, but I figure eating in the room will generally save us time and money.

We're not planning on bringing snacks this trip. Brought them last time and ended up bringing them all back home again. I love the DDP!

Same here -- we took snacks but almost never used them! The dining plan was enough to keep us full!

For breakfasts, we had an assortment: cereal and milk, bagels and cream cheese, yogurt, fruit, and juice. With all that to choose from, we kept the entire group happy.

For snacks, I have 2 basic recommendations: one, don't take bananas! They squish way too easily! The second is the corollary: take things that don't squish easily. We had good luck with peanut butter crackers, apples, oranges, and so forth.

We each also carried a water bottle, which was essential in that heat!

chocolate or cinnamon poptarts are always good. But since they come in packages of two wither eat both or remember to bring a ziplock baggie for the other. We had a bad experience of leaveing an open poptart in my moms bag and there were poptart crumbs every where! haha... goldfish, twizzlers for a sugar fix and dry cereal are always good to
