Doesn't hurt to dream or to add a note to my ressie - right:wizard: We are taking the plunge for a boardwalk view in a one bedroom:yay:. What are some of the better rooms to be in? Anyone have any pics?

I would love to hear about your room. Thanks and have a great night:thumbsup2

I always request top floor. I got second floor once and it was above Big River and very noisy, it was June and people were out late on the boardwalk.

I was just there Dec 5 to 11 and was in 4041, which I think was the best 1 bedroom boardwalk view I've had. It was above the blue awning on the store, which wasn't too far from the elevators.

I posted some pictures here:

Your pics are great. Love that little tea cup lamp. I will add my request for a higher floor. The only thing I am afraid of is getting one of those rooms with the tiny balconies. Did you room have a nice balcony? Could you sit outside? Not that I think we could possible sit outside on a balcony in July:eek:

Anyone else?

There were separate balconies off the living room and bedroom. Each had 2 chairs and a table. The 1 bedroom I had last year only had 1 balcony that was between the bedroom & living room and could only be accessed through the bedroom. I think it was 4007, it was under the arch above Big River. Wasn't crazy about that room, long way from the elevator.

Top floor for sure, around 2AM all the happy people leave Jellyroll, ESPN and dance hall. Try to get the middle of the floor, BW is a looong building. We got the top floor, last room (next to Jellyroll) and we needed a guide to get to it.

Which ever board walk view room you get they are all breathtaking.

Top floor for sure!

We don't mind the long walk to our favorites ... 5003 and 5007. Here is the view from 5003 which we were in Dec. 18 to 23.

5003 has two balconies which have two chairs and a table.

5007 has one long balcony with four chairs and two tables but you on the right is the red wall so you can't see around the corner to the right while sitting. Not a big deal at all.

We like both of these locations!

We also like and request the higher floor rooms but it isn't always possible to get them. The rooms further down the hall (lower numbers) actually tend to have better fireworks views. The upper floors have better views of MK fireworks, though they are in the distance. Here are a couple of shots from our room a few weeks ago--2009. Not an upper floor, but not a bad room. It had one long balcony with doors from both living and bedroom. The balcony had 2 small tables and 4 chairs and still had enough room to move around. It had slats, not the solid wall that some of the higher number 2nd floor rooms have. (The walled balconies are usually quite large and covered but you can't really see onto the boardwalk without standing.)

I personally like the rooms with the larger balconies.

We had a 3rd floor view in a studio over the Crest of the Wave section and thought the small "picket fence" balcony was just too small.

Keep in mind that we had a 2 bedroom over Big River Grille with a HUGE balcony. The problem with that is that you basically have to stand to see anything, but it is fantastic. I could have put an army on that balcony!

Top floors tend to have better views, but lower floors have easier access. Especially if you are strollerless. Travelling with kids who are strollerless and pool age, getting in and out of the building is way more important to us than a view we seldom take time to look at.

With strollers, nearer to the elevator is a benefit that is hard to pass up - the hallways can get longish and strollers don't do stairs well.

So for view - higher floors - and further down where the building is blocks fewer of the fireworks. But higher floors further down are the WORST rooms in terms of access. The are far from the lobby and the elevators, and there are five flights of steps to haul your family up and down if you want to take the short cut.

Wow, thanks guys. Lots to think about. I do hate those long hallways, but I know there are tradeoffs (and no guarantees on any request).
