A chromebook is a laptop that runs Chrome OS, google's operating system. Low cost and easy to use. Good for kids and college students.

yOU have to be online to use a Chromebook with the Google apps suite. No MS office for offline work. That's why my school stopped the purchase of them because we need to have kids working offline due to bandwidth and stuff. It's different to have to be online with something to work it. at least that's what I've been told.

You can either buy one macbook for more money and keep it for YEARS trouble and virus free, or...buy several PCs and have to deal with viruses and malware and replace the PC about every 2-3 years. Never again. I came kicking and screaming to the apple party but everything I heard was true. Two years in and not one blip, one virus, one issue, no black screens, blue screens of death, no worries. They are worth every penny.
