Okay, I need help from all of my DIS friends. Since I am an uber-planner, I am trying to decide where my little princess should get to eat on her fourth birthday in October . We will be on the dining plan, so I will only do one sit-down meal that day, but it can be virtually anywhere.

Background: she will be turning four, is CRAZY for Cinderella and doesn’t mind the other princesses either. She talks DAILY about getting to go to Disney World for her birthday, but has no concept of time or that her birthday is nine months away. We will have hoppers, although I had sort of planned on Epcot on her birthday, but that can be changed. I had planned on doing the Princess Storybook breakfast at Akershus (late breakfast, hopefully), thinking that she would get a good number of princesses wishing her lots of happy birthdays and 1900 Park Fare the next day for dinner. However, she really, really loves Cinderella (obviously, that is subject to change between now and then.) Should I do 1900 Park Fare for dinner on her birthday instead? I was hoping to save that for our non-park day.

Anyone been to either or both for a child’s birthday? Understanding that individuals always get treated differently, anyone feel like one is a BETTER choice for a birthday? Or that I should do something different altogether?

During the week we will also be eating at (hopefully): California Grill, Crystal Palace, Alfredo’s, either 50’s Prime Time or the new MGM character meal if it comes through, Le Cellier, and either Chef Mickey’s or Rainforest, depending on how my points work out, in addition to Akershus and 1900 Park Fare.

Comments and suggestions are encouraged and will be appreciated. TIA!

We had a wonderful 4th birthday at 1900 Park for dinner. Prince Charming held her hand while we all sang Happy Birthday to her and she got a crown and a placemat to take home signed by the characters and a cupcake. They have some really cute princess cakes that you can order (see thread today on those) and they just treated her like royalty. I would highly recommend it.

My DD celebrated her 7th birthday at WDW this past summer. We went to City Hall in MK (at each park you can get a different b-day button) and got her the birthday button which she wore for several days (though her sister got tired of the CM's and characters always wishing her happy birthday--and would grumble it's not her birthday anymore :rotfl: ). I got her a cake a O'hanas for our 1st night (only about $15 with tax--choice of vanilla or chocolate with Mickey on it...this cake can also be ordered at other restaurants...I wish I knew how to up load pics). We had breakfast another morning at CRT which it the ultimate IMHO for a little girl who loves princesses especially Cindy. Our TA (DU) had called ahead to let them know it was her b-day and the table was all decorated with confetti and streamers, and all the princesses made a fuss over her b-day too (also our TA, a month before we arrived had sent dd a note from Cinderella letting her know how excited she was that dd was going to be celebrating her birthday there). I think any meal at CRT would be great...though I know now it is a 2 credit ts meal. We also did 1900 Park Fare too and the character interaction was great as well as the food (though we did not get good service there?). I hope some of these ideas help.

You may want to consider 1900 Park Fare as this is a Cinderella character dinner. When we ate there last fall, we ordered the cinderella chocalate slipper for dessert. it is beautiful and i would post a pic if i could figure out how to! THis must be ordered in advance through the grand floridian bakery. oh, and someone else posted a photo recently of the b-day cake with cinderella on top from grand floridian bakery. it was so beatiful!

We loved the food here, Cindy is so great. Plus the mice and prince Charming. We saw a 1yr old get a b-day cupcake here from snow white (prince was out for the night, we presumed getting cindy something good for Christmas) and the pictures her mom got were so cute. We all sang to her and it was so cute even though it wasnt my kid!

I saw those pictures (beautiful cake, even more beautiful girl!) and I know what the slipper looks like. Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like Disney is missing out on a marketing opportunity here (gasp)? There is NO WEBSITE that has pictures of special cakes/desserts that can be ordered (for an additional fee, of course). It is hard to believe that Disney has missed the boat on that one. Anyone else who has pics, I invite you to share!
