Best birthday dessert in all of Disneyland?

Hi all! Sorry I haven't been around much, as our APs expired, so now I am in the "visit a few days a year" demographic. :sad1:

Luckily, one of those days will be next month for DD6's birthday. (i let the kids pick between party OR experience. Without fail, all 3 have picked experience.)

So...what is the best birthday dessert for a 6 year old girl? She wanted an ice cream sundae with a chocolate crown, like we got in WDW, but I'm not seeing anything like that in the Disneyland menus. The dessert platter at Ariel's looks divine, but over $100 for dinner? ouch. Especially since the time we ate there, my entree was  But for my little princess, I could suck it up. But I figured I could ask for experiences (and photos! I love the photos!) and find her the best birthday yet!

Oh, and FTR, it will be myself (mom) DD9, DS8, and DD6- birthday girl! (DH is deployed.)

My first thought was the Kitchen Sink ice cream dessert they have at WDW... does anyone know if they have anything like this at DL? *That* would bring a big smile to a little girl's face!

Here's a picture of the WDW version.

We've done the WOC dinner at Ariel's and really enjoyed it. The desserts are awesome and you can have as much as you want. But for the cost, your little girl may just prefer to go to the treat store next to Winnie the Pooh and get a bunch of fancy desserts there. Just as tasty and beautiful behind the counter, but for far less!

They did have the Kitchen Sink dessert at PCH Grill in PPH.

Ooh, yes! I just checked and according to the official DL website menu, they still have it!

This is the PCH Grill's Kitchen Sink dessert:

and here is what it is:
The Whole PCH Grill & Kitchen Sink - Ten scoops of ice cream...then tell us what you don't want on it. $21.99

From what I understand, it has all kinds of toppings and candy bars etc. on it.

That is a great idea, assuming the birthday girl and company are ice cream eaters. :thumbsup2

The other ice cream place would be Gibson Girls, though it will be closed for rehab. Oh well.

At table service locations you can order a birthday cake, though the cakes are not great ones, they are birthday cakes. http://disneyland.disney.go.com/special-occasions/birthdays/

At Ariel's breakfast last week, they gave DD5 a brownie w/ a candle for her birthday (not the cute little chocolate crown & cake they gave her at Cinderella's castle at WDW for her 3rd birthday). At Minnie's breakfast, they did nothing for my other daughter's 7th birthday in November.:sad2:

Take a candle and matches to make sure you can give her a special experience w/ a cupcake from somewhere. I made the mistake of not doing so for DD's 7th.

We loved the volcano at the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney. My kids were thrilled when they saw it and it was more than enough for 5 of us for $14.99

That ice cream sounds fantastic! We did the big one at the Soda Shop a few years ago for DH's birthday. My Schwan's man will witness- we are ice cream eaters!

Wow, there's always more to learn. I'd never heard of the Kitchen Sink, but now think it's a must for my kids. :-)

Update! I showed DD the picture of the kitchen sink, and she is so excited!!
So the next question is (and I can't find the answer on Google)... How exactly does one get to the Paradise Pier Hotel from DL, more likely from DCA. She can't wait to go on the new Ariel ride!

From DCA, take the entrance to the Grand Californian Hotel. It's right by the Grizzly Rapids ride. Go straight through the GCH, through the lobby, and out the front entrance of the hotel on Disneyland Drive. Follow the curved hotel driveway towards your left. Cross Disneyland Drive at the crosswalk, and you're standing in front of Paradise Pier Hotel.
