Best beaches near Disneyland?

We are looking for a beach escape near DL. Any ideas on the best beaches?

Hi,We have not been to DL yet,we leave next Tuesday. But I have been on these boards for the past few months and one BEACH that has been mentioned repeatedly is HUNTINGTON Beach. So I went on their website and they sent me a very nice Visitors Guide.This will be the beach we will visit during our vacation.Although my DD21, keeps mentioning LAGUNA Beach,(they film some show there)but this looks kind of far from DL to me? San Clemente has a great beach and pier. About an hour south from DL.

I booked a limo with Tony the Limo King. He was recommended by the Anaheim/OC Tourist group.

He charged me $50 each way...which didn't seem bad at all considering he was on my schedule. We only had a limo one way because I didn't prepay, but that was fine, we just needed wheels.

There's a playground for little ones, a public shower and bathroom, and right next to the beach there's a shop that rents body boards and other beach supplies. If you'd prefer to not haul things cross country, it is very handy.

Lots of people were walking to nearby shops and bringing back pizza and other food. There's an ice cream shop across the street that has delicious huge cones!

It was a very family-friendly beach. There wasn't anyone causing trouble, drinking, etc. Even the groups of teenagers there were friendly and having fun.

If you have time to go early, the area is an artist's colony-type environment. I think the older kids would enjoy visiting some of the shops in the area, too.

Mind you, I have no experience with other beaches so I can't compare, but for us, Laguna was a perfect fit!

Hi Intsmon,(LOVE your Sig. Pic) Thanks for the info on Laguna Beach. Do you remember how far it is from DL and how long it took you to get there?? We will have a car and my DD-21 would be THRILLED to visit Laguna Beach! Joan
