What's the best backpack to use while in the WDW parks?

The smallest you can get away with, preferably none. Unless you have small children there really isn't a reason to carry a lot of stuff with you in the parks.

The Eddie Bauer Quickpack Daypack is inexpensive, strong, light, and will fit on all the rides by your feet. I went to an Eddie Bauer outlet to get mine and they were on sale for $20 each. The best feature was the little adjustable strap that connects the two straps together across the chest. It keeps the weight off your shoulders and make it easier to carry heavier loads.

I think they may have replaced with with a different design, because I can't find it on their website.

I agree! I have a drawstring from the 2010 WDW line that I bought at the outlets a few trips back, and I swear by it! It has lovely thick straps, is great quality, and fits my hat, sunglasses, wallet, camera and excessive amounts of park maps easily!

I bought a mesh backpack similar to this

with the idea that it will be easy for them to go through at bag check, it's very light, and hopefully won't be as hot on my back as a regular backpack would be.

Personally i like carrying my backpack around the parks. I cant speak as to whats best, that really depends on how you will use it. Mine has around 7 zippers and i have never had trouble nor taken long going through bag check.

I used a backpack on previous trips and it was bulky to store on some rides & sweaty during the hot days in Florida. I switched to a vertical lunch bag. It is smaller & insulated. It has outside pockets ( to hold a water bottle,camera,maps)It also has an adjustable strap to wear it across the body if desired. I got mine at Target. There are plenty of them in the stores now with the school supplies.I think you will like it( if it's going to be holding stuff for 1-2 people).

I carried a purse backpack for a couple of trips and my shoulders and back were very sore by evening. Then I carried some cross body bags, one from Eddie Bauer and one from ThirtyOne. Just got this little and I mean little dream! On clearance from llbean, $14.99. DH said "hey I would carry this myself". Cracked me up. Anyway we do not have kids so no kid stuff to carry. I have learned to take only the necessities in the parks, instead of everything I think I might need.

I LOVE my Stowaway Backpack from L.L. Bean. Super lightweight and even has 2 water bottle pockets!

I am thinking about buying some small cheap ones from walmart - to carry water, snacks, maps etc. No big deal if they get stolen from our strollers as we ride,

I use a standard size Mickey backpack that I got as part of one of WDW's "Buy X amount of stuff, get Y item for only $Z!" promotions.

I carry a lot of stuff into the parks and find good use for all of it.

I got the REI Cambria Flap Daypack in the Clover yellow color for a few reasons - it is small but holds a good amount of stuff and it zips closed and it is bright yellow so I don't forget to grab it.

I do have children (4 & 1) and I have to bring some supplies for them but I'm a minimalist when it comes to that stuff. We also bring a small insulated lunch bag backpack style for ice waters. It helps that we know we'll have a stroller to relieve the carry sometimes and all bags are small enough to take on the rides if necessary.

I use a camelback. It has a 100oz bladder that you can put any liquid in and plenty of storage for a day pack.

Thanks for the advice and recommendations. I actually found a small sized sling backpack at Eddie Bauer that was on sale for $14. It's the perfect size.

We actually have a clear backpack that my wife bought at a NASCAR race in Charlotte one year.it meets the regulation in size and is also see through.most of the security guards at the front of the disney parks compliment us on it but we have had a few die hard guards who still plundered through it.however I don't like the idea of everyone being able to see everything I have in there.camera,cellphones,wallet,ect.we are currently looking at a couple of non-clear backpacks from Dakine.
