We went to Blizzard Beach yesterday. We were there early (10:15 with tickets already in hand) but all the shade down below in Tikes Peak was already taken and crowded so we found our own cabana up above on the hill behind the baby slides. There are two cabanas there and we checked with the lifeguards that they weren't reserved.
Came back to find a family eating lunch on our table. They had a baby so we let them stay and rearranged the table so their group had one side of the cabana and our group had the other side. It was the most shade and also good shelter for two rain showers!
We put on one heavy coating of sunscreen in the morning but it was not enough.DS is sunburnt on shoulders and upper back. I am sunburnt the same places and also had a bad rash over arms and chest wherever sun could reach. DD is slightly sunburnt on legs from when she fell asleep on Cross country Creek.
Next time we are all wearing rash shirts. DH wore his and had no problems.
I did get to do snowstormers once and a little of the wave pool but mostly stood around in the bright sun watching DD(3) have a really, really, wonderful time. The family raft was good but DMIL chickened out and they had to stop the ride temporarily to let her off safely from the raft before it launched.DS (11) says all of BB was in his top 5 best things of this vacation.
