we are going to in oct. loking for opinions on which section to put in as a prefence. 6adults and a 4 and2 year old thanks for any input

With the addition of the new pool and counter service we light Paddocks the best now.

Second would be Congress Park for views and close to Downtown Disney.

Another vote for Congress Park. We love walking to Downtown Disney.

If I ever stayed at SSR again, I'd ask for one of the Grandstand buildings closest to the main building that houses the shops and restaurants. We don't ever drive at WDW, and last time we stayed at SSR in the Carousel; it didn't work very well for us. Was just too far from everything. I think if you're without a car, those Grandstand buildings give you good access to the public areas and 2 pools, AND you're the first bus stop. If you have a car, there are certainly areas with nicer views.

We would request The Paddock. We enjoyed it's location before the new themed pool was added so with that addition I think it would be a great OVERALL location.

1 vote for the Springs. It is close to the restaurants and main pool as well as close to the boat dock to DTD. We stayed there April 2011 and loved it.

We like the Grandstand area because of the views, pool, and short walk to the main area. If you go during busier times it is also the first bus stop to get on and off. That's nice at the end of a long day! Next would be Congress Park and the DTD views. Short walk to main area as well as DTD. Next for us would be Paddocks and the new pool helps. Springs would be next to last because even though it is the closest to the main area the views are so-so and it is the last bus stop. This can be a big factor at times as we have seen people have to wait for another bus because it was already full. Last would be Carousel. We drive so it wasn't too bad and the new Paddocks pool would help, but we still would put it last on our list.

thanks for the input,we are going to have a rental car. i have read some of the reviews and they talk about how some sections have been refurbished.any thoughts.

Congress Park is in the process of being rehabbed now.

We loved the Paddock section. Last year we had a room overlooking the new pool. it was so handy to fill up your refillable mug, grab a bite and the pool is excellent for kids. It was about a 5min walk to the main area and restaurant. We took the boat from DTD and it was only about 7min back to our room.

My vote is Paddock. The new pool has a terrific water play area for children under 48". There are tippy buckets, small slides and lots of spray. Plus there are great tables with umbrellas for those watching the kids.

We drove there from the Treehouses in November.

Have a great trip!

We have stayed at the Grandstand and The Springs. We love the Grandstand. Close enough to walk to the main pool and Artists Palette. Also nice to have a pool and hot tub close by the room. Last visit we walked over to the Paddock from The Springs so close and a quick walk across a long bridge over the water. Nice pool and food offerings. :thumbsup2

We stayed at both Grandstand and paddock locations. They were both very nice. In the grandstand, we overlooked the golf course, we were pretty close to the pool and the bus.

I think we may have like the paddock section a little better. We were in a room overlooking the pool and the bus stop was right there as well. There was a bridge to walk across to the main building, it felt like a faster walk to the main building than when we stayed in the grand stand. There is also a nice quick service at the pool at the paddock. I would stay in that section again!

I'm a Congress Park girl myself. :goodvibes I LOVE the view of DTD.:cloud9: But, you have to request that view. You don't automatically get it by just requesting CP. I found that out once the hard way. :headache:

If you want to be near the main pool and food court request the springs. If you want to be the first bus pick up/ drop off request the grandstand. Last summer we stayed in the paddock. I preferred the main pool to the new paddock one. We enjoyed the pool activities and there was more shade.

We are staying at SSR again this summer. I will be requesting congress park. I love the proximity to DTD and it is also a short walk to the main pool. My second choice would be the grandstand.

My Vote is for the springs. I was there with 4 adults and 1 child and it is close to everything.

Drawback is it is the last stop for busses coming and going
