Okay, I should have been in bed about an hr ago, but found a thread called Worst Holiday GIfst Ever and count not stop reading...

I was laughing so hard, DH thought I was crying

It is 13 pages and I have only finished 9.

If you are not up for readin the entire thing, just read at least the first 3 pages..

Looks for posts from user PAKEY and then there is another user, drawing a blank on her namne, but she talks about getting gifts from her Menurme(name for gramma??),who made goody boxes for everyone...wait until you see what she puts in them

I just caught up with the last few days...I miss you guys!!!!!!!!!

I can't wait to see what you are going to do with it. I'll have to post pictures later of the Advent Callander I am making for my MIL. I just put the backing and batting on and started quilting it last night. I hope to have it done before xmas. It's oh so cute!

I vote for cornbread dressing too.........so we still win with 4 votes!

We don't have gumbo for Thanksgiving or Christmas, but we did hae it the Sat after Thanksgiving and we usually have it @ Christmas Eve and all through the year of course. YUMMMMYYY!!!! We never had oyster and mirliton dressing. We have cornbread dressing, but ours is not mixed with biscuits.

OB Now you got me hungry for some good shrimp Gumbo. Actually my favorite is a Gumbo NO NO. I love chicken and Shrimp gumbo!!

I just can't keep up with who's on top and stuff. . . so I've just been lurking for trip updates.

You got to the GLOW Party! Yeah! You were always correct on the LorilieMarie and Allie (It said "I think" after our names) I got the pleasure of meeting the Disney Family and their wonderful kids. I was really imbarrassed though, I was the only one that showed up in a swim suit! You think that if you were going to have a party by the pool that you would wear a swim suit, right? Oh well - I still had fun. Talked to DisneyDad and Mom about building our pool, met kindaCrazy, Utah Momma, KeliBlue, Slightly Goofy, Eeyore45 and more - I recognized most everyone from the boards and had short conversations with most of them. I hung out with the DisneyKids at the pool for awhile. They're awesome.

Going to try to lurk some more. . . Holidays are starting to keep me busy!

He played with the kids were there...It was a calm bunch, so that was nice for DS.

Then, we hit Target as ds had some bday mula to blow

So, he got a Power Rangers Punching bag.

He got a Toss Across Game...Tic Tac Game whee you throw sacs, to try and get the blocks to flip to either x or o, depending on what letter you are.

We played about an hr...it was fun...

OMG.......toss across was around when we were kids!!!!!! I think it is so funny how the old games are coming back!!!!!!!

Well thank you for that, it sounds good, I think I can make something like that even when it is not thanksgiving.
My mom usually stuffs the bird, then for the last hour she takes the stuffing out, and throws it in the oven on its own to get a nice krispy crust on it. Works out good, has all the flavors of the bird, thengets nice and crispy on its own.



seafood on thanksgiving...that is just disgusting.

Yes dressing is very easy to make anytime! Let me know if you ever want the recipe! It was my grandmother's from forever ago..and she would have been glad to share!

Really! I hope tomorrow I can talk to that lady about the 2nd job, the one that pays better, the Adm. Asst. job instead of the receptionist position. $3.00 an hour more adds up. At the lower rate by the time I fill my tank, I'll be making what I did on unemployment, that stinks. I wish I could find something on my side of the river.

Good luck QM.........surely hiring someone who already works there and knows the drill would make sense to them?!?!?!

We Normally Go to a Hotel...& have a Shin Dig...& stay the Night...But this year we are having it at The Office...Kinda small this year...BUt it gets Expensive...So we decided to have a blow out one year then the Next..do something small...this year is the Next!

YOu guys may think it is OK........but the Christmas party is the only one we go to that is any big deal.........a night out alone........a hotel room for the night.........alone.........no kids......now....no hotel???????? and we take the kids??????????????

I worked for a job once where no one was allowed to bring their spouses. I hated that and refused to go.

I found out later, the reason being that a lot of them were up to no good with their co-workers

Hi DMom ! Mirliton -- I think they call it a vegetable pear up north. I don't actually eat the dressing I don't care for it. But it is real popular down here.

I disagree also. What is disgusting about seafood? Two days after Thanksgiving I came home to find my husband had polished off the leftover Gumbo

hey you're still here!

house/dogsitting is over thank goodness! Mom and Dad came home on Tuesday afternoon. It went well though. I didn't do much sewing like I thought I would. But I did get the final boarder on my advent calendar on and I got everything basted and I've already started quilting on it. I have Santa's head all done...now just gotta finish the hat and body and then ill be onto the boarders. I want to have it done by the next time I see my mom so I can put the binding on and make the advent pieces. I believe I will have it done before xmas
