Okay, so I am going to finally get my new phone this weekend. I am getting an HTC Incredible, and I am SUPER excited. Recommend me some good apps to get!

Bar Code Reader
Nook
Kindle
Color Note
ScreenLight (flashlight)--keeps your screen on, great for finding things in a dark room
Droid Light--SUPER bright flashlight--more suited for walking outside in the dark-very bright light
PDAnet. There is a free version and a paid version. I got the paid version for $15. It allows you to use your phone as a hot spot for your laptop. I was surfing the next on my laptop all through our last long car ride. :thumbsup2

I love Grocery IQ to make my grocery lists. That is my favorite! Here are a few more that I like:
Google Goggles
Google sky map
GasBuddy
Kindle app
Angry Birds
BeWorded
Flashlight
NFL Mobile
ESPN ScoreCenter
Shopsavvy
Southwest airlines
Target
weather channel
Trip Advisor

Oh, and of course the DL/WDW line apps.

Not sure if the incredible has this but I would guess that it does-not an app but a phone feature-you can speak to text on these phones for texting, emails, Colornote (I would also guess the grocery store app-I need to get that one). You just click on the microphone looking button and talk. It's amazing how accurate it is too. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

DH has the incredible, I have the X. Both have that ability. I just love it! The grocery store app has taht as well. I just walk around my kitchen, talking my list out. It's great. And I never forget anything when shopping now. You can create multiple lists for the different stores in your area too.

ShopSavvy - by scanning a barcode you can get internet prices as well as local prices of the item scanned. Last week I scanned an "out of stock" item at Joann's for my wife. Not only did I find it online but instead of $30 it was $10 and free shipping.

Cozi - family calender that all family members can use and make changes to from their own phones (or computers).

Weather Bug - constant weather updates.

Bump - lets you exchange contact info with other people
using Android phones or IPhones just by bumping the phones together.

Pandora - free music!!

FIOS Remote DVR - control your FIOS DVR from anywhere. :thumbsup2

Droid X here.

Oh I forgot about another good one. Double Twist will let you convert your itunes stuff to your android phone.

Ohhhh I'm looking up Droid Light right now :) DBF has a flashlight app on his Touch but I want one for my phone. :) Thanks for that. :)

I also wonder about Cozi....we don't all have smart phones, do we all need them? Can I make it so things show up on DBF's calender on his Touch? No one but me has a smart phone, they all have feature phones without internet access. :)

OP I have Word Feud (I play with one of my BFF's, it's like scrabble and we take turns), Angry Birds & Angry Birds Seasons, Sound Hound (which is the BEST music ID app ever!), Color Note (which is like Post Its for notes), Nook, Mouse Wait, Word Up! (which is Boggle) Tom the Talking Cat (which is HILARIOUS! I love that silly app) and some apps for playing solitaire. :)

Not too many, but I've only had my Droid for 3 weeks. :) It's the Droid X. :)

Is that $15 a month or $15 forever?

I love Shazam which listens to a song and tells you who it is and what song it is.

Pandora is great for music - just type in a favorite artist and it plays them and others like them.

Can you use this to watch ITunes movies too?

It's a one time charge.

Cozi will send a text to those without smart phones.

:thumbsup2 Thanks! :)

I use Sound Hound instead of Shazam, it works a lot better ime. :)

One time charge of $15 and you can use your phone as a hot spot?? Verizon wants $20 for a month of this....$15 forever seems to good to be true! lol

I know but I have been using it now for a month or so. It's great for long car rides!!! It will also be nice to use when staying in a hotel that charges for internet. I would also think it would be handy if your internet goes down at home for whatever reason (weather, etc.). You can use the free version forever but after 14 day trial period they block any site you need a password to access.

I have the Samsung Epic 4g. I had a BlackBerry for over 2 years, I've only had this phone for a few months and its the BEST phone I've ever invested in! LOVE THE ANDROID!

MAIN APPS:
Nook
TweetCaster (using the widget)
Facebook (using the widget)
ColorNote
Swift Key (new virtual keyboard works great with Twitter)
Pandora
YellowBook
Shazam (LOVE this app, it listens to about 10 seconds of a song and tells you all about it and where to download)
Password keeper
youtube (widget)
GTalk
CNN
Moviefone
ShopSavy barscan (great bar code scanner)
Key Ring (keeps all your membership cards on file, you take a pic of the barcode, and the app saves it with the store. I went to Dicks sporting goods the other day and they actually SCANNED my phone instead of the membership card!)
Tip n Split
Color Flash (great flashlight!)
Zedge (really cool wallpapers!)
RingMaker (has thousands of downloaded songs, makes a ringtone in minutes!)

GAMES:
Angry Birds
Angry Birds seasons
Doodle Jump
Traffic Jam
Roller (ski ball)
Pinball Deluxe (my newest fav)

That is so cool!!! I am so looking into this app! :) Thanks!! I'd want it for car trips, which we seem to take a lot of. :) I can surf on my phone of course, but it's so much easier/nicer to have a laptop to do it with! :)

Found another great app yesterday. It's called "Shush". It allows you to set a timer when you mute the ringer. That way you can't forget to turn the ringer back on.

It can be set (in 15 minute increments) as low as 15 minutes or as long as 12 hours.
