Best and Worst horror/spooky movies?

Yes, but the original Halloween and Friday the 13th sure have a special place in my memory. Oh, and A Nightmare on Elm Street too.Worse....all hack and whack movies
One I was OK with...Johnny Depps' Secret Window.

Oooh, the Netflix Haunting of Hill House I thought was really goodThe best - the old black and white 1960’s movie The Haunting (based on Shirley Jackson’s The Haunting of Hill House)…The worst was the 1999 ‘remake’…
Haven’t seen it - but I heard it was goodOooh, the Netflix Haunting of Hill House I thought was really good
Oooh, good one, me too.The Amityville Horror scared the crap out of me when I was a kid.
Love your top 3. And Great Pumpkin.I always watch scary movies and Halloween shows in October! I rotate through a bunch of them, but the ones I have to watch every year are:
Halloween
The Shining
The Exorcist
Silence of the Lambs
My Bloody Valentine
It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
Hocus Pocus
The Nightmare Before Christmas (I consider it more of a Halloween movie; I know opinions on that differ)
I haven't found any scary movies in the last couple decades to add to my annual must watch list, but I did like The Conjuring and have seen it more than once. Hoping for some good suggestions here! I re-watched Christine for the first time in a long time this year and it held up better than I expected!
Yes! It is not an annual watch for me, but it was good!Love your top 3. And Great Pumpkin.
How about "The Ring"? Speaking as a full grown man, that movie scared the crap out of me.
Best: Halloween, Scream and Friday the 13th series. Harry Potter series and Hocus Pocus (not the meh sequel) are my honorable mentions.Worse....all hack and whack movies

Woman in Black caught me off guard by how good it was! I have not seen Lady in White so will add that to my list!I would also add The Lady in White, Woman in Black and Something Wicked this Way Comes and The Ring as favorites…I’m not into the blood and gore aspect of movies or ultra violence…that tends to gross me out more than scare me…
Friday the 13th 1 & 2 are not on my annual viewing list, but they are often part of the rotation! And Harry Potter is in my rotation all year - love those movies. Scream is good as well.Best: Halloween, Scream and Friday the 13th series. Harry Potter series and Hocus Pocus (not the meh sequel) are my honorable mentions.
Worst: Children of the Corn, the Hills have Eyes, House of Wax.
