Best and worst by cuisine

I always see best and worst list but what about by cuisine. Somebody might be looking for the best asian restaurant or best steak so I figured lets make a list buy cuisine

here are the cuisines I could think of for Disney that had a few options.

Best

Aasian - Teppan Edo
Steakhouse - le cellier (think it is over priced but was good)
Italian - Via Napoli
Mexican
American (ribs, pot roast, chicken, etc) - 50's Prime Time
Vegetarian
Seafood - California Grill
Burgers / sandwiches - Earl of Sandwich

Worst

Steakhouse
Italian - Tony's
Mexican
American (ribs, pot roast, chicken, etc) - Rainforest Cafe
Vegetarian
Seafood - Coral Reef
Burgers / sandwiches

I know Disney lists more in the Cuisine list but a lot of those are only really one place.

I haven't had really an Mexican except for quick service so I can't answer that. And I really don't eat vegetarian food other then a salad. Lets hear what you think.

Best Asian for me would be Morimoto. I thought Teppan Edo was not that good. 50s Prime Time is really good, but Best American for me would be Homecoming. Although, it is Florida/Southern specific.

I'm not sure there are enough in each cuisine category to do this.
I mean, how many German restaurants are there at WDW?
Or how many Mexican? 2? Sort of hard to rank 2 since half will like one and half another.
You really need a bigger selection to make this type of ranking work

To me, Teppan Edo is no better or worse than any other middle of the road hibachi place I have ever been to-including places in CT, RI, MA, ME, NH, FL, NJ, CA and PA. In fact, the only hibachi places I have ever been at that were over-the-top amazing are in NYC.
As for Asian food, we love Yak & Yeti and eat there twice a trip if not more. I have tried almost everything on their menu and have never had anything less than delicious.
The best steakhouses to us are Shula's and Yachtsman. We just had a pretty disappointing meal at Le Cellier two weeks ago.
I have yet to have excellent Italian food anywhere in Disney.
So much of this is subjective of course, depending on what you are used to and where you live. I worked on the Lower East Side in NYC for many years with Chinatown and Little Italy a short walk or cab ride away-lunch was fantastic no matter where I ate.

So true. What we find to be decent Chinese food here in small town SE TN will not even remotely compare to what you had in NYC. So we may feel what they have at Epcot is vastly superior when it fact, it's really quite poor. And not even close to what someone from NYC would have at their fingertips. This is what makes it hard for all restaurant reviews.

I just thought a list for people like this would be better then the top 5 as they might all be the same cuisine. We like to hit all the different cuisines while we are there and I think there are a couple good restaurants that would never make the top 5 or 10 but are still really good. we like the Tuna nachos at Yak and Yeti but a few other things have been run of the mill. I haven't ate at Morimotos so I can't comment on that one. We have a lot of places to go before we have eaten at all of them but we try to hit a couple new ones every time. just going twice a year takes some time to get to them all.

While you'll find some "exotic" and "ethnic" choices around WDW, for the most part, it's very dumbed down and inauthentic. Like said above, it's all about where you're from and what you know. I've lived in NYC my whole life, grew up with an Italian grandmother, in a Greek neighborhood, went to school in a German neighborhood, and for the last 20 years I've lived in a Korean/Chinese neighborhood, so I'm used to eating truly authentic ethnic food.

I find the food at WDW to be, for the most part, the same, and bland, at every restaurant, with a little "ethnic" flair thrown in.The only cuisine that comes close, for me, to being authentic, is Boma. (I can assume the Jiko and Saana are probably as good as well, but I haven't eaten there.)

Burgers / sandwiches... Beaches and Cream is best and worst is ESPN Club
European (English, Irish, French, German...)... best is Biergarten and worst is Rose and Crown

Love the plug for Chuy's. It's our favorite. We are biased since we live in Austin However, it's technically TexMex and New Mexico/Mex. I have been fearful of trying the supposed "Mexican" restaurants at Epcot, since we can get authentic stuff here.

Asian/African/Mediterranean...Boma I agree 150% on this one. we just love Boma. I think it is one of the best buffets on Disney all around.
European (English, Irish, French, German...) for us is Raglan Road is the best.

We haven't eaten at that many places within each category, but I'll try to contribute in a "regional" way. (I don't have too many bad ones to report, thankfully!)

Seafood: Narcoossee's we had mostly all seafood and it was all delicious
German: Really enjoyed the Biergarten offerings. So much to choose from!
Mediterranean: Spice Road Table with a group sharing various small plates was very tasty and fun.
UK/Ireland: I LOVED Raglan Road -- found Rose & Crown to be more "generic"
Steakhouse: Really only been to Le Cellier, as we kind of do our own steaks at home, but it was super good when we dined there in 2014.
Mexican: La Hacienda de San Angel was a great success for us. (Don't get me started about that basil margarita -- yum!!)
French or "Continental" style: Well, V&A. We had dinner at BOG twice -- first time was excellent; less so this past fall.

Haven't tried any of the Italian because we get a lot of that at home and local restaurants. In the kind of African/Asian themes, we've been to Tiffins, Skipper Canteen, Sanaa. They were all good, but maybe not repeats for us. Need to Boma & Jiko it up next time!
