Best Airfare from Baltimore/Wash area

I am thinking SW for our trip. Does anyone know of any discount codes, or a way to find the cheapest?

As far as I know, there are no codes out for SWA's. Actually I haven't seen any released for over a year. I got one by mail last fall but we weren't traveling at the time. SWA and Air Tran will more than likely match airfares but I prefer SWA. Keep checking, especially on Tuesdays when sale fares are typically released. When are you traveling?

Southwest from BWI is by far the easiest cheapest flights around. I looked into flights for June and I think some of them came out to $120 a ticket. I fly BWI to New York about 10 times a year (I know its not the same as Orlando) and BWI is a great airport. Very easy if you are leaving your car too. It is easy to book the flights online but if you call Southwest they are amazingly helpful. Be sure to print out your boarding passes online before your flight so you board first because they dont assign seating.

I need to book a flight out of BWI in May. Right now SW & Airtran both have the same rate of $79 each way. I think these prices will be good until 3/3, but I'm wondering if they will drop the prices anymore after that date?!
Should I buy these tickets before 3/3, to be on the safe side?! LOL

I'd book the southwest tickets at the price they are now. If the rate goes down before you travel you can always call and have them refund your card or give you a credit towards future travel. They're happy to do it as long as you're not actually changing the flight.

We will be traveling in May and DH has enough Diner's points for one free ticket. It sounds like I should go ahead and book at the $79 each way rate. My inlaws will probably be willing to drop us off, they live about 10 mins away. I used to work at BWI, in the gift shops, in high school, I bet it has changed a lot since then!

I'm traveling to Orlando in May as well. I bought my $79 tickets last month just so I can get the exact flight I want. I'm hoping that there will be a sale but if something doesn't show up in the next week or two then I doubt we'll see any sales at all. So go ahead and book then keep your fingers crossed!

I used to fly out of Philly when flying to MCO but someone told me about SWA (before SWA went into Philly) and DH and I really liked BWI. It's not too big or too small, very easy to navigate and the parking/shuttle system is extremely efficent. The only thing I think they could improve on is their resturants and shops. There isn't a lot of choices.

Not sure how close you are to Washington/Dulles, but Independence Air had some good prices out of there recently. I think it was $44 each way, although those are expired now. But it's another one to keep in mind (flyi.com)

I have to agree with you Luckymommy and the food offerings at BWI. There is absolutely nothing there. I always make it a point to grab something before going to the airport. My parents live by Arundel Mills mall (10 minutes from BWI) and they always take us, so we grab something. Much better tasting and cheaper!!

And Southwest out of BWI was the only airline offering a decent fare for non-stops to Orlando in late March. There were a couple cheaper prices available (I think Independence was one of them) but each required 1 or more stops or plane changes or flew out of Reagan which I refuse to fly in and out of. We're going at Easter break.

We've gotten to the stage in our travelling lives that saving $20 or so isn't worth the risk of lost connections due to delays, more chances to lose luggage and switching seats etc. for a 2 hour flight.
