Wishes, Illuminations, or Fantasmic? We'll be doing 5 days at Disney (one day at each park, 2 days at MK) with a 5 & 6 year old and I think doing all 3 will just be too many late nights. I'm leaning towards Wishes for sure, which should we do for the other?

Thanks!

I'm thinking IllumiNations just because I've heard that some children get scared by Fantasmic.

Everyone has their own personal preference. I'd recommend checking them both out on youtube and seeing which one you think your little ones would enjoy most. For me personally, Fantasmic is my favorite of the three.

wishes and fantasmic!! i can skip illuminations and have no regrets. it's an ok show for me. i don't find the fireworks that thrilling and i i can see how the globe is a wonder work of artistry, but it's really hard to see. doesn't keep our attention.

With Wishes as a given, I prefer Fantasmic of the other 2... but as a PP said, it does scare some kids because it's got bad guys and whatnot.

I agree with BuzzintoDisney - check out Fantasmic on YouTube to make sure the kiddos won't be scared. If they won't, go for it. Mine absolutely loved it when we went last time and they were 6 (almost 7) and 8 at the time. They were in awe and couldn't stop talking about it. And if you're willing to splurge, now they have those light up Mickey ears that change color in time to the show. We didn't have them, but they looked pretty neat. (although they do make it harder for the people behind you to see :/ )

I prefer Fantasmic over Illuminations but if I only see Wishes while there I still go home happy.

This was our situation last time and we ended up going with Wishes and Illuminations and I left wishing we'd put Fantasmic in the second spot instead. I liked Illuminations a lot, but I think Fantasmic would have better sustained my kids' attention. We are attempting all 3 next time, but I have some night owl kiddos. If they end up not being up for it, Illuminations will be the one we cut.

We love all 3, but if I could only choose 2, I'd do Wishes and Fantasmic.

Personally, I would pick Wishes and Fantasmic, but Fantasmic is my favorite show on Disney property and always has been.

Look them up online and see what you think. For me, I didn't appreciate Illuminations until I was older. I love it now, but the story was hard to grasp (chaos to life to today) and I didn't want to watch clips on a globe in the middle of the water. Neither one is just fireworks and both have a show aspect to them, so I would just see which they would enjoy more.

I would choose Wishes and Illuminations. We took DS to Fantasmic when he was 3 1/2 and he got really scared. Exiting after Fantasmic is a nightmare as well.

I truly love Fantasmic, but I have, on many occasions, seen people have to leave with their toddlers who have become frightened. So with that in mind I would say Illuminations. On the other hand, Fantasmic has some really great character moments that any child would love. So I think the PP who suggested watching videos of them before deciding gave some pretty good advice :)

If you can get a good seat at Fantasmic, go with that. If you are seated too far away it is easy to lose focus, get bored and antsy, especially if you are a child. Illuminations is also great and seems shorter than Fantasmic to me, so that could also be a plus.

Our family loves Fantasmic! We went this past May and worried about the exit at the end of the show. Honestly, it was no big deal. We just walked out of the park with the crowd. :cool1:

IMO wishes is more of "typical fireworks" while the others are shows
Fantasmic is pref by me as a whole but illuminations big plus with kids is not having to get there super early (at least the times of yr we normally go) and stand in line
