Best 1BR Resort Options for MK focused trip

I'm seeking advice from seasoned WDW vets. My family is looking to visit in March for 3 park days. We will be visiting Florida for a separate reason, so will only have 3 full park days available. We have a 5 year old and a 1 year old, so we will need to leave the parks in the afternoon for a midday rest and a good pool would be great for the oldest. Before anyone says it - our 1 year old does not sleep well in the stroller so staying in the parks all afternoon is not an option. We will get to the parks for rope drop and early entry each day. We are DLR vets, so used to being able to walk everywhere.

Given the ages of our kids and our personal interests, we want to do 2 days at Magic Kingdom and 1 day at Epcot. We would preferably stay at a MK resort to be within walking distance, monorail, or boat to MK, but we also really want at least a 1 bedroom hotel option to put the crib in a different room for naps and early bedtime. The prices at Bay Lake Tower for DVC point rentals are in excess of $900 per night for a 1BR - probably too rich for our blood. The Garden Wing standard view is around $600, which is more reasonable (still expensive), but I don't see any kind of separate area where we could place the crib.

Other options include a family suite at Art of Animation, but it will be more challenging to get to MK and place us in reliance on buses (we'd prefer to avoid buses if possible given going to/from MK 2 times for 2 days). We could also look at Old Key West 1 BR or All Star Music family suites. We will have a car and car seats due to other travel before/after in Florida.

What are some of your recommendations to get us easiest access to Magic Kingdom, while also getting a 1BR/suite or a regular hotel room that maybe has some space where a crib could be separated from a sitting area during naptime?

Have you thought about renting BLT from a DVC member opposed to booking directly with Disney?

BLT 1 BR has 2 full bathrooms. However, it will be in the middle of a year long refurbishment while you are there so that would make me cautious. It’s walking distance to MK can’t be beat. While others don’t like its pool, I like it for my 5 yo. Small footprint so kiddo is within sight.

GF 1BRs have a large walk in closet in the BR that may accommodate the pack n play. Boat and monorail are options to MK. It also has a walkway to MK.

Wilderness has the boat so that may be an option and a little less expensive than a monorail resort.

Thank you, very helpful! I will look into GF, WL, and direct rentals from a DVC member.

The Poly studios are enormous and have more than enough room to put the crib somewhere where it won't disturb anyone. They have two showers and the second bathroom is where my crib-age kids would sleep.

I wouldn't pay for a 1BR unless you really wanted the kitchen.
Thank you! I will look at Poly, I never would have known from the pics.

I agree BLT pool is fine for a 5 year old, has the zero entry and the monorail slide they will enjoy.
The extra bathroom is also great.
Right now you are inside of 7 months so if available DVC Rental Store will rent the points for $19 each so for checking in Friday and checking out Monday it could be close to the $900 a night though.

As @WinterSolider said Poly studios you could put the crib in one of the bathrooms and they have standard studios available which would be about $515 a night.

The board sponsor has an availability checker and shows prices.

Thank you for the link and additional info about Poly! I didn't realize the Poly studio had 2 bathrooms. I've watched a video and it would be perfect for a pack n' play!

It doesn’t. I should have said 2 bathroom areas. It has a large walkin shower and vanity in one room and a toilet bath/shower combo and vanity in the other.

Okay, thank you. I watched a video and get what you meant about 2 bathroom areas. We will only need 1, so a great option for naps!

We just stayed in a refurbished 1-bedroom at BRV (at WL) in March and it was spectacular. That may be your cheapest option for a 1-bedroom villa in the MK area. You could also look into a deluxe room at WL, but that will probably price out more than the BRV 1-bedroom. You could also look into a 1-bedroom at BWV or BCV to have easy access to EP and just bus to MK.
