Besides WDW and Uni

I am currently arranging a trip to Vero Beach to work a short term mission located there in January. Before we head back to the cold north, I thought perhaps we could take a day or two to visit and attraction or two. WDW and Uni are going to be too expensive for this trip as much as I would like to visit there again. So besides the beach itself, what lower cost attractions are there that I might not know about are there between the Vero Beach and Orlando areas? TIA
