Hi all,
I have a trip coming up the 2nd week of March. Staying 7 nights at Pop, have 6 park days but no hopper (I would have booked 5 days but 6 was cheaper with a promo). Kids are 6 (girl) and 9 (boy) and it’s their first trip. DH and I have been several times but none in the past decade. With six park days, we can visit two parks twice, but I am viewing the 6th day as a bonus day. Definitely planning to go to MK twice. My initial thought was to do Epcot twice too but as two shorter days to give us a little rest time on two of the Park days, but after reading everything about Hollywood Studios I’m wondering if we should plan two days there instead (one being a shorter day), but obviously past my 60 day FP mark so don’t know if it’d really help to switch.
Current plans:
Sun - MK
Mon - Epcot from 9ish to mid afternoon, mostly in the front part, probably Disney Springs for early dinner, early bedtime to get up for the Hollywood studios opening the next morning. (FP for test track and will also try to ride Soarin)
Tues - Hollywood Studios
Wed - Epcot from noon-ish to dinner time, a lazier day in World Showcase (FP for frozen)
Thurs - MK
Fri - AK
Sat - Home
If it matters, at Hollywood Studios I have FP for SDD, Toy Story Mania, and Tower of Terror. DH also really wants to do RotR so that would be the other must do (hopefully). And it would be cool to do the Mickey Minnie Railroad but who knows how that will go. DD is 46” so can’t ride the rock n roll coaster, that’s a low priority for all of us (DH might try to ride by himself if there’s time). I’d like to see Muppets for my own nostalgia but other than that, shows are lower priority than the rides. If I switch from Epcot to Hollywood Studios it would be Wednesday, too many good FP the other days. My main concern with switching is that the second day at Hollywood Studios will be more crowded/stressful than Epcot and won’t actually much stress off of the first Hollywood Studios day.
Kids are active & adventurous, daughter likes princesses but we did a Disney Cruise about a year ago and aren’t going to spend hours in lines meeting the characters since we had a lot of face time with them on the cruise. Son likes classic Mickey/Donald/Pluto. He also likes math/science/nature/geography (part of why I initially chose Epcot 2x) and sports.
Haven’t been considering 2 days at AK - we have morning FP for FOP, Everest, and the Safari. Kali River Rapids is closed when we are there as well so I think we can hit our must sees there in one day.
Thoughts? (Sorry my Disney lingo/abbreviations aren’t quite up to par yet!)
